Try giving it a little fuel to keep it going. if it still goes but will shakes and splutters and coughs before smoothing out it sounds like fuel is draining back from your engine to the tank. if you have an electric fuel primer pump that turns on when you turn the ignition to on you should be able to hear an electric whine unless your car either does not feature one or its not audiable/ possibly not working. leave your car at "on" for 10 seconds then try starting it as well. see if it improves

SOURCE: Perform Service Light comes on

This is a setting that can be reset to 2000 miles - when it counts down to 0 you get the "Perform Service" alert. I believe if you use the Step function you will see "XX miles to Service" Use the reset button to set this back to 2000.

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

Yes new gas shocks on the lift gate will fix your problem. I had the same problem on my 2005 Pacifica and when it hit my head- I came up with the solution.

Good Luck,

Hi I would disconect the battery to reset the computer first.
then check the timinng belts for wear, if all is good, move to next system masairflow idel control egr in that order. if that does not fix the problem throttle position sensor would be next and always look for vacuum leaks and bad wires.

Acceleration won't go past 3000 PRM at idle

The car does have a maf, but it is rarely the cause of rough idle. Rough idle is usually caused by vacuum leak, pvc issues, or idle air control valve. What does it do, specifically, and is the engine light on?

My 2006 Chrysler pacifica will start running rough and won't accelerate after driving slow or sitting at a stop light but it only does it some times. You can turn it off and let it set for a few s

The problem exists because codes are only an
indication of a system fault

You use the codes to compnent test & only replace
a part if found to be bad

Improper way to diagnose things--start over

have you looked at the tires- if they are wore down the wear bars-little bands of rubber that cross the grooves in tread will be exposed and the noise is your warning to get new tires soon

2005 Chrysler Pacifica 3.5 V6, has a code that says bad crank sensor, got a new one, want to know the location of the crank sensor for that model

Codes don't tell you anything is bad

They are used to diagnose & component test
a sensor or other parts of a system

You only replace a part if it fails a test

If your not testing the system & it's components,
how would you know what does work & what doesn't?

I was told that I needed O2 sensors, but there was no code. That there were 5 to replace to get the right one. My pacifica won't go over about 30mph, & black smoke pours out of the exhaust

They can still be bad without DTCs - but the statement that there are 5 is absurd. If you have a V6 and there are two separate exhaust pipes you'll need 4.
