The back fright wheel on the driver's side has started to knock. More so when you push on the break. Almost sounds like something is rubbing under the car/behind the wheel/on the wheel! Just before the knocking starts, when pushing down on the breaks. The breaks squeek. This just started. We took the car in a few weeks back to have the tires rotated.
Sounds like you have a brake shoes with uneven wear, check brake drum, more than likely needs some time on brake lathe.
Could be loose wheel nuts
take the car to a specialist brake shop for a pad/rotor /drum inspection
SOURCE: tC makes a ticking / flapping noise when driving.
Grab ahold of the "Chin" or lip spoiler under the radiator...chances are it broken..."Flapping" at speed...might also be an inner fenderwell thats loose.
Good Luck
SOURCE: Engine Knocking Noise
I don't think that the petrol quality will come up with this noise and also the engine is fairly new to have these sort of problems.. Have you run out of oil and used the car? I would suggest a computerised diagnostic if you are getting any error code on the dashboard. It is quite complicated to get an answer for your question...
SOURCE: Engine Noise
either a pulley or belt is worn could be a bearing on a pulley different reasons check pulleys or spray belt dressing on belt maybe.....
SOURCE: I have an 05 Scion tC, and I have switched my rims
the 70 series tire is about an inch taller so there shouldn,t be a problem. can't you try them to see if they'll fit? there were 17's on them before and they fit.
Testimonial: "I didn't realize we had a lot of small pick ups here at work so i ran outside and measured from the hub to the outside of the tire, and it seems good"
SOURCE: Took my 2008 scion xd
well there can be issues with the wheel allignment. check for the correct specifications of the wheels as well.

Could be a lose or over-worn brake shoe. When is the last time you had brakes done? Mileage?
David-We are at 67K and had breaks done at 50K.
You may want to have the rear drums/shoes inspected, if you don't have experience with brake drums, I highly recommend you have someone look at them as they can be tricky.
taken it in tomorrow-thanks!
