Some people say "it won't turn over when they mean it cranks and won't start. If you turn the key and there's no noise, turn on the headlights to see if they are bright. If so, battery is probably o.k. If it won't crank, the problem is in the ignition switch, transmission safety switch, or the firewall connections. You have to check point to point.. If it cranks and won't start, It's either spark or fuel. More info needed.
The issue with the security light is more of a communication problem. The key has a transponder in the plastic head. This sends a signal to the ignion/lock cylinder. The ignition reads this signal, converts it to another signal and sends it down the line to the TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). The TDM is the main brain of the security system. If it gets the correct signal and everything is working properly, it will do its job just fine and allow the starter to start and the injectors to pulse like normal. If there is ANY break in the system ANYWHERE, then the TDM cant send the signal and the vehicle shuts down with no notice except the SECURITY light. Here is a site i found on the subject. Pretty informative.
This occurs when the battery has been disconnected. Turn the ignion on and wind each window down half way and then all the way up and hold for 1 second. This will reset the windows and they then should work from the master switch on the drivers door.
check fuel relays, and fuel pump fuse. Some times a fuel pump will warn you a day or two before it goes. Other times it just stops. Also check the plug connection under truck and make sure its clean and dry no moisture in it. you can also check for power . no power (fuse or relays possible) have power (most likely pump) The average life span of the fuel pump is two to three years at least that has been my luck, and they only warrant 30 days on a new one. Make sure you have power before replacing pump.
well could be your ignion switch or wire going to starting motor from your ignition switch
small wire going to starter get someone to turn ignition switch an d see you getting 12 volts to starter wire
make sure it is in neutral
Try a fuel filter, the timeing belt won't cause poor acceleration. If the ignion system is good then you either have fuel or exhaust problems. You may need a catalytic converter if the fuel filter does'nt work out.
