2004 mazda 6 3.0 upper plenum torque

If you try to tighten the upper intake plenum bolts to 18ft/lbs you will most definitely break them off! They call for 89in/lbs so 7-8ft/lbs is plenty adequate.

2004 Mazda 6 throwing code PO1410,PO171,PO174,PO421,PO431 Lunges while stopped in gear or idles up and down.

Start with the first code, most likely is causing the other codes. P1410 EGR Boost Solenoid Valve Stuck needs to be replaced. It's causing a vacuum leak.

I have a 2004 mazda 6 with the battery light coming on and the transmission stays in 3rd gear, checked battery when the car is running and it has 16.8 volts , i was told the alternator was the problem

Your alternator can be the problem yes. It sounds like the alternator is overcharging. However, the alternator regulator is part of the computer. If you dont feel comfortable enough to diagnose yourself, then take to a reputable shop to have them confirm. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BATTERY WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING AS THIS CAN POSSIBLY BURN OUT YOUR COMPUTER As far as the 3rd gear issue it may be in a limp mode due to the over charging of the system. Good luck!
