I drive my Elantra 2007 all morning with no problems. I parked for a couple of hours and when I try to start it again the key did not turned at all. I the two original keys that come with my vehicle. The shifting stick is in park and can't be moved from this position. Suggestion are welcome....Thanks
Have you tried wiggling the steering wheel?
while trying to turn the key, try to wiggle the steering wheel. sometimes, the lock to the steering wheel is preventing the key to turn.

well the last resort would be to remove the plastic cover of the steering column and unscrew the white plastic where the wires are attached . unscrew it in the end of the key cylinder.
you can notice that you can use a spade screw driver to turn the inside of the white plastic and you can start the car but the problem is still your steering column which is still locked.
the lock of your steering column is being fasten by a special bolt that is why it would be very hard to remove.
if you can un lock your steering, then you can use the car and bring it to a repair shop.
tnx again

Thanks for your quick response :). Yes I try to wiggle steering wheel until it got locked, but I was never able to turn it. advise! Thanks.
I am having the same problem, but it is not the steering wheel lock. It has happened twice. First time the steering was locked, but today it was not. Do think I should try graphit or wd40? Or is the ignition worn out?
