I bought a 1993 318i last 7 digits of vin are(FG07424) wipers are not working properly. Won't shut off after you start them unless you shut off keys. On every speed except high it stops at 10 or 11 oclock spot instead of going down to its regular position. Wiper and washer seem to work good besides this problem. I had to change the arm going to the passenger side wiper it was broken and n__errigged back together. Any possible solution

I had the wipers won't shut off, or turned on by themselves on my 2005 Kia Sorento. It about drove me nuts. I came across my solution by pressing every button I could find, eventually finding out what the mystery button to the right of the hazard button on the dash was for. (It's to defrost the front wipers by the way) You can investigate further if you'd like but it's not necessary if this works for you.
I simply pressed the button on, waited a moment and turned it back off. It stopped the wipers. They came back on about three more times over next few days and I repeated the process each time. It's been about three weeks since the last time I did it and I haven't had any more problems. This sound crazy or quirky I know and I don't pretend to understand it, but it's working for me. It beats the heck out of paying over $300 dollars plus labour for a new wiper switch . I priced them. Good luck.
has to be replaced - bad switch or electrical short Either way unless you are good with electrical gadgets mechanic is the way, have a trusted one? It should not be too expansive
Hey Rk_
The switch may have gone bad.. or the module that controls the wiper... if the fuse went bad, it would not work.. REMOVE the fuse if you want it to stop...
