Had the very exact problem. Take switch panel off door. Leave switch hooked up. Run a wire from ground to the big black wire on window switch. Just push it in to make contact. Try window switch. If windows work you have a broken black ground wire inside the boot coming from fram to door. Goon luck.

Check the power to the power window switch on the driver's side.

Std & SuperCab Engine compartment fuse panel, Fuse # 110 -> Accessory delay relay -> Light Blue w/ Black stripe wire.

If you do not have power at the light blue w/ black stripe wire with the key in the accy or run positions, next would be to pull the accessory delay relay from the cab fuse panel, and bench test it to make sure when power & ground are connected to the coil, that the normally open terminals close. Easy test, power & ground to terminal 85 & 86, ohm meter on terminals 30 & 87.

If the accessory delay relay bench tests good, check for continuity on terminal 87 to the light blue w/ black stripe wire at the window switch.
Another easy route is to install a jumper in the relay socket ( with the relay removed ) as shown in the diagram above, red line. This should have power at the power windows regardless of the key position. If not, the fuse is not good or the wire is broken, most likely in the rubber boot from the a pillar to the driver's door.

Windows will not role down or up

you have to have a wiring problem if the fuses and relays are good. You may have bad window switches but usually only one switch will quit working at a time. The most common to go bad is the master switch on the drivers door. check all the switches on all doors and then check the fuses and relays again. you may have more than one fuse panel under the hood and under the dash.

All of my power windows suddenly quit working they worked fine on Friday night and Saturday morning nothing--zilch We have checked fuses and circuit breakers---any ideas?

did you check the fuse or relay for windows! if need be take out master switch and check for power. if power, then maybe the ground wire is bad. have a good day !!

2000 GMC Jimmy SLE driver's power window

I had the same problem...it was the window gear that got stuck when the window was all the way up. (that's the clicking) I took my panel off and banged on the inside of the door with a rubber mallet. The window works again. Since then I make sure when I role the window all the way up to stop that I just barely tap the down button to release the pressure on the gear inside. When your using the hammer...hold the switch in the down mode...ignition on of course.
