Hi Britnie, The battery light means it's not charging , Alternator problem , possibly ! Is there a auto parts store near you ? Most will check it out for free ! With ac not working too , could be just the serpentine belt . The belt turns the alternator an ac compressor !

Where is the hissing coming from? Could it be coming from the engine compartment? Maybe the starter is spinning, and not engaging. Have someone turn the key and you watch and listen to the starter.
