The 406 code is the EGR valve. This valve sends exhaust gas back into the intake for reducing emissions. Take it off and clean it and inspect it for debris that hold it open. IF it is sticking open it would cause the 108 code. The 108 code is the MAP sensor that measures the vacuum on the air intake. Make sure all hoses etc are not cracked or brittle.
You did not give the make model and year, so I will give a generic answer. Code 108 is for a problem with the MAP sensor circuit. The sensor may be faulty, or you could have a problem with the circuit back to the computer.
look for vacuum leak at air filter to throttle body ..all along the snorkel use carb cleaner while running and waft areas described til motor changes personalitly
