99 venture ran excellent had head gasket problem
if anything moved prior to your replacing these items you could be on the exhaust side of the stroke vs the compression side,, (180 degrees out of time) remove the number one plug,, and this sounds dumb , but it works,, put your finger in the hole and crank the motor ( just tap the key ) be sure and remove the coil wire so it doesn't start !! when the motor tries to blow your finger out of the hole, thats the compression stroke, it will scare the heck out of you, but not to worry its cool. once you do this, Look at the marks on the gear,, do they Line up? check the alignment of the rotor, is it at the number one plug position ? this is a easy check to do, but the bad thing is, if the chain slipped while at high RPMs ,, it could have bent valves, in that case your car would be timed right,, you have valve problems,,
