My hp officejet j6480 won't shut off when pressing the power button. The only way it well shut off is that I unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Also, nothing seems to work when power cord is plug in the outlet. I had the power adapter check and that's working fine. Took off the front face plate and check all the button for stickness and they all work. Can't figure out the proplem - neee help!

Press the Setup button (c01361401.gif ).

  1. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Tools displays on the control panel, and then press OK .
  2. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Fax Log displays on the control panel, and then press OK .
  3. Press the Right arrow button (c01185072.jpg ) until Clear Fax Log displays on the control panel, and then press OK . A message that says the fax memory is clear displays on the control panel.
  4. Press the Cancel button (c01235250.gif ) to exit.

Performing a reset
Follow these steps to perform a reset of the product.
  1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
  2. With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 15 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
  7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button ( ) to turn it on.

Resete power hp officejet 6310

to reset the printer please follow the steps :
------------------------------------------------------

1- Press switch the printer off and remove the power plug

2- Press # & 3 to gather until see initialize message then
notice the printer will reset and need to do some calibration

  • unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet
  • hold down the power button for a minute to drain power
  • plug the power cord back in to the wall
  • press # and 3 on the keypad while plugging in the power cord to the back of the printer

6210 Stuck in self test mode

Perform the steps provided below.

  1. Unplug the power cord from the HP All-in-One.
  2. Wait for 20 seconds.
  3. Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord to the HP All-in-One.
  4. Release the buttons after the HP All-in-One starts up.
  5. The HP All-in-One will now be reset to factory defaults.

Please follow the follwoing steps, 

1) unplug the power cord at the both ends from the printer and wall outlet. connect to wall out let directly dont connect to printer.
2)Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product hold for 1 min after plugging the power cord, and then release both buttons, this should resolve the issue.

HP Office Jet 6310xi All in One

Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One when there is still power in the unit also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet or surg protector, leave the cable unplugged for atlest 1Mins time.
Then connect the power cable directly to wall outlet without the surg protector and before connecting the power cord to the printer, press and hold the # and no 6 button in the All-In-One without releasing the keys connect the power cord and do not release the keys untill it shows as semifull reset.

Hp c7280 all-in-one printer will not shut off

I'm assuming your printer power button will not shut the printer off. You can unplug the power connector from behind the printer if it won't shut off via the power button or power switch.

Performing a power reset
  1. Press the On button to turn off the HP All-in-One.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the HP All-in-One.
  3. Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet and wait for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power adapter back into the wall outlet.
  5. Plug the power cord to the back of the HP All-in-One.
  6. Press the On button to turn on the HP All-in-One.
