Dryer left on for couple days when left for a weekend and stayed on whole time as did not shut off in the "more dry" position. Now dryer does not heat at all. Dryer does tumble and checked power is OK. Flipped breakers all OK. Dryer bought used 1 year ago and has never varied or worked on the automatic dry settings. Reason however used the auto settings was that it was not getting enough heat on the timed settings. Previous to this. I have not yet run an electrical meter across the fuse or heating element. Not sure where are unless take apart whole dryer.

Hi

I would assume that the heating element has burnt out.
These are often not expensive to buy and fairly easy to replace

SOURCE: dryer is on and tumbling, but not heating up

Its very hard testing without a test meter.. volts and ohms. The Casing & heater is on the right side facing the back of the dryer. Metal silver in color, the heater is inside of the caseing. You can take the heater out and look for broken coils on the heater to see if it needs replacing. You have a to lift the top up to get at the top screw of the heater casing, take the 2 screws out of the flap where the lint filter goes. Use a putty knife to push the clips in on the front of the dryer and look to the back on the left side to remove the top screw of the casing. check the heater a post results.. theres many more things to check if the heater is good.

First and foremost check your breakers. There will be 2, 30 amp breakers. Even if they don't look tripped reset them anyway. Then try the dryer if that's not the problem then you either have a thermostat problem or heating element and will need to check with an ohm meter.

SOURCE: dryer heats, then quits

The thermostat that controls the heat has failed. Try one of the other settings on the timer switch ans see if it will heat, the different cycles use different thermostats.

Samsung model dv5451 cooling light stays on

I am assuming when you turn it on, after couple of minutes goes off.
If you are on sensor drying and have no load or too little, then clothing might not touch the sensor enough (to show it is wet), and therefore microprocessor shuts unit down "thinking" everything is dry already. Try time dry.
Alternative: defective main board, sensor, wire harness.Call for service.

My GE DCVH680EJWW front load dryer shuts off after a couple minutes when its in the sensor dry cycle, but stays on in timed dry cycle , is there a way to reset the dryer?

It could be a dirty moisture sensor. If it can't sense the moisture from the clothes, it thinks that they are dry and ends the cycle.

THE ELEMENT CYCLES. NO IT DOESN'T STAY ON THE WHOLE TIME, BUT IT SHOULD BE ON FOR MORE THAN A BRIEF SECONDS TOO. POST ME THE MODEL NUMBER FOUND SOMWHERE AROUND THE DOOR AND I'LL HELP FURTHER. THERE ARE THERMOSTAT/S HIGH-LIMIT SHUT OFF SWITCHES AND IF THEY ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY IT WILL CAUSE DRYING TIME PROBLEMS

LG Gas dryer doesn't dry clothes in one cycle

Have you checked your outside vent while it was running to see if the dryer was venting 100%. If your clothes are hot and humid I would say clean your vent pipe has a blockage and needs to be cleaned out. Also as far as the burning smell you could take the front off (unplug first) the dryer of by removing 4 screws one above and one below the latch and two at the bottom and there are two clips one at the top left and right push in with a puddy knife and lift the top up a couple inches and lift the front up off the bottom holders. Then you will have access to vacuuming the lint that is floating around the burner.
