Wire less problem

I own a laptop inspiron 6400 model. i used windows xp on it but once i decided to use vista. since my laptop is not quite compatible with vista its performance was not well enough then i decided to change the operating system back to xp but the thing is that whenever i turn on the wireless and connect to internet the sound severly breaks up. i donno what to do. it seem that the whole computer is engaged with this problem because i feel that arrow head also breaks up.
i donno what to do . help me.

    hi

    you know i have done this for several problems but it is no help.

    even i have tried to use different versions of windows xp but again it didnt work.

    but any way thanks for your response.

Am temab for that what you have to do is to backup all your document and format the system and after that reload or reinstall all packages and operating system then it will be ok because i suspect that the problem is all over the operating system format it and reload the operating system window Xp is that clear any question

How can I install drivers for dell inspiron 6400?
Hi.

Click on the link at the bottom of the page to open Dell download page. Using the form on the Dell page, choose the OS (XP or Vista), the download links will be listed on the lower part of the Dell page.

Download one by one the drivers listed on the last part of the Dell page (audio, video etc.) by clicking the link for each driver.

Save the drivers into a folder, renaming them as audio, video etc. When you have finished downloading all drivers install them one by one onto the Inspiron 6400 by executing the files that you just finished downloading.

You may need to restart the computer after installing each driver.Ensure that the driver installation is complete before restarting.

Ensure that you are using an account with administrator privileges while installing the drivers. If using Vista you may need to click the right button of the mousepad on the installer file, and choose 'Run as Administrator' from the drop down menu.

Note: drivers for Windows 7 and Windows 64 OS are not available.

Yes, you are right. It looks like that you need to replace the hard drive but I suggest that you try to reinstall the operating system of your computer using the OS cd that came with your computer or you can also try to use pc restore (built-in recovery).

Note: reinstalling the operating system or performing pc restore will erase all of your data in the hard drive.

You did not specify the operating system of your computer, whether windows xp, vista, or windows 7.

You need to go to Dell Support pages online and download the drivers for your laptop model, if they dont show a windows 7 driver then try the vista or xp one they list, should still work.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model laptop, better still type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the driver for your Windows operating system.

Dell inspiron 6400/E1505 audio drivers not working.
I can see how vista would screw up drivers through automatic updates. You could not be the 1st.
There are driver cleaners out there.

Make sure you know what chipset you have, probably AC97 and use the driver cleaner to remove it.
Reboot and install the driver from dells web site.

Laptop suddenly won't start
It could possibly be a bad motherboard. But before having the mobo replaced, I suggest you swap out parts from a working system to eliminate points of failure. if you don't have the parts, just remove the parts not needed for posting. this includes the hdd, optical drive, modem, bluetooth card, wireless card, and external devices. once you see the dell logo, install these devices one at a time and see what causes the problem. If you decided to have the mobo replaced, you can send your system to the depot for repairs. before this try pushing F12 when booting see if you can get onto the dell diagnostics.
