Have just also run across this problem after several loads of laundry worked ok today.....after rinse and drain, when the washer goes into Spin mode, there's is a buzzing/spinning noise from rear of the washer and the drum does not budge. No error messages appear, but we have to hit cancel for the annoying sound to quit. Tried removing some wet laundry to see if it was a balance issue, but this did not work either. Any thoughts?? I too would like to avoid Sears $69 appearance fee!

F2 mean that you have a drainage problem and could be that the pump is clogged. I believe the pump can be accessed from the front of the washer. Also make sure electrical connections are secure. Make sure no hoses are clogged or kinked anywhere.
Did you have an oil leak at the bottom of the washer? If yes, chances are your transmission oil leaked and your transmission needs changing or repairing.
The pump is likely damaged if it was leaking. Look for a ring of melted plastic on the face side of the pump. Check to make sure the hole is not rounded where the motor shaft enters the pump. I'd replace the pump just to make sure the washer doesn't flood some time in the future even if the pump turn out to be ok now.
sounds like the lower bearing on the trans mission shaft is seizing up on you. had a frigedair that did the same thing. i took it apart to replace, but could not buy separate. it only came with a purchase of a new transmission, which ran $175- 275. so i junked it out. washer was only 5 years old.
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. click the linkhttp://www.repairclinic.com/0088_11_1.asp#Level1_5
I would take body of washer find out where noise coeing from.. got 2 screws in each side of head, flip head up and take clamps off .. pull whole body off washer run thu cycle and see if ya can locate the noise.. sometimes water pumps get something in them that well make weird noises.. but are in all cycles.
