It is the right age for failure---IF you are able look inside at the power supply for bad caps---I will attach photos of what to look for.
The three tries is what is called a three strikes and you are out (no joke)----the unit has built into it (many do) a feature where it will try 3 times to make it up and on and if fails shuts down or stops trying.
3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

maybe you did the child lock which doesent allow you to turn the tv on unless u clck some buttons look in ur booklet and search for how to unblock the child lock or the 2nd try the turn on button and the ok button at the same time if it doesent work forgive me this happend to me as well
