My Canon iR 2020 Photocopier machine is giving me message - system eror E001. How do I reset the machine for that eror message to cease?

Its related to the fixing temp. do the error clear on service mode. then check the fixing film assy. heater circuit contact points for corrosion. Replace it.

Fixing film assembly may need to be replaced if error cannot be cleared. Fixing error codes should be reset by a professional only. Fuser assembly must be examined before resetting the E000, E001, E003 and E007 codes. Enter the service mode this way: Press "Additional Function" key, Press "2" and "8" simultaneously, press "Additional Function" key again. Go to COPIER----FUNCTIONS-----CLEAR----ERR. Here your tech can reset the error codes. Then turn machine off & on again.

When the machine powers up the E001 error code is displayed but cannot be reset. (Note: The reset procedure for an E001 code is COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR)
Workaround :
In this case, the Main Power Supply PCB Assembly was replaced. The machine was powered up and the E001 code was able to be reset. The part number for the Main Power Supply Assembly is FM2-0260-000.
Remember, if the fixing unit circuitry has an open or a short, the code may not reset. Be sure to confirm the fixing unit wiring and try resetting the code before replacing the Main Power Supply Assembly. Canon USA, Inc. Systems & Technical Support Division1-800-528-2830

these is often sympthom when there is fixing trouble, usually when there is error code like E000, E001, E002, E003...

Please tell wich copir model? Like ir2016/2018/2020....

I know that this error wants to raise up at Canon iR 2018, and It means that the fixing circuit is broken or has short circuit.

You can try to reconnect connectors of fixing assy, but in most cases I had to replace whole fixing unit.
