You likely have an additional drivers cd that will contain the sound app / drivers...
There may well be an additional directory on your restore cd that contains the necessary drivers.

The speaker icon on my laptop says that no audio output device is installed and i have no idea why ive plugged in headphones but still have no sound

Evidently you have uninstalled the driver for your audio system. I would go to Toshiba's support site and look for driver updates for your model and then download the correct free audio driver. Download it, go to that folder and run the setup or install file for it. Here is the URL for their support page:

http://support.toshiba.com/drivers

Enter your model number in the window in the middle of the page.

Good luck.

Did a system restore on my computer but when it was completely restored everything works fine except the speakers. i unplugged them and did the whole restart thing and still speakers arent showing up and...

you should start with updating the sound drivers. they get lost sometimes on restore. it wouldn't hurt to go to EMachines and update all drivers for your unit. also look at he specs for your unit, it will tell you who the sound manufacturer is and then you can go to their web site to update drivers also. if you need more info reply back

Acer 4730z file for volume control button

You need to install sound driver in order to get it worked with your new operating system. Installing MSUAA before installing sound driver may help (try using Win Vista sound driver). Go to this link to download:

No Audio device output installed

You must be using windows vista.

this error means you do not have hardware for sound.

if you are having this problem in desktop attach one headphone or speakr and it will work fine.

if you are using laptop try connecting headphone in jack it should work fine

Sound is not working

Try doing a check in the device manager for flags.
Remove any flags and remove any external devices.
Reboot the unit in safe mode and see if you get the same error messages2.gif.
If so, you can remove your sound and modem drivers in the device manager and reload from restoration disks or partation. Or you can allow windows to reload the drivers after a reboot.
If you are useing VISTA2.gif the best way is to type in recovery manager, and choose re-install hardware but you should have removed the audio and modem drivers first.
Hope this helps, Please readers rate your techs

Hi
Can you use System Restore to roll back to a restore point when you did not have the problem?
Other wise go to mfr web site and download and re-install drivers

try re-installing the audio drivers. i had that problem with my computer, all i did was search for Realtek AC97' sound drivers and sound was restored. if not, try SoundMax Digital Audio Drivers.
