Epson Stylus CX5000 blurry or smudged printing

When I changed to compatible ink cartridge from original Epson ink, some letters would print blurry or smudged. I have since installed original Epson back and printing is still the same. I have run the head cleaning routine. Do I have ink clogging somewhere still? Should I use profressional head cleaning solution? Is it an alignment problem. At this time I wish to only print in black and have chosen that option. Can I run the alignment routine in black ink only and how? Thanks for your advice.

Epson uses pigmented ink and compatibles use dyes and thus if the paper is not of good quality then you can have this problem.

do the following

change the paper and try.

As there will be ink in the head and the ink feed tubes , print some 10 -15 copies of all color prints so that the original ink starts to get into the head and then the paper.

this should solve your problem

Also use your printer every 2 -3 days if you dont have any prints then give a noozle check and then switch off the printer. This will avoid the printer from doing a head clean very time you switch on the printer and also the ink will give you more output as there is less amount of head cleaning

bye

I have replaced all the ink cartridges, but it still says they are empty. It won't print anything. what do i do?

are these original ink cartridges? sometimes when you use compatible inks these happens. get some original inks in and check if it still does it. if you do have original inks and still get this problem the head may have a problem. you will need to have it checked at epson. if the original ink works, try to put the compatibles in, this solves the problem most of the time for compatibles.

I have an Epson Stylus CX5000 and it is skipping and/or printing only parts of lines. How do I fix this problem?

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

The printer is only printing in two colors and only in lines going across the page. not a full print

Make sure that the ink you have, is Epson Ink.

I bought a compatible, supposely ink, and when I put it in, Colors did not come out the same. Lines and words, did not print out properly.

So I threw the ink cartridges, and bought original, Epson Ink, and Ooh-LA-LA, Printed out just fine.

Go Figure.

Good Luck

Espon cx5000 printing problem

Try to reinstall your printer.

Check if you have installed the ink cartridge properly.

Clean your print head.

Make sure you are installing a original Epson ink cartridge and not just a refill ink.

This may be the cartridge itself, take the black ink cartridge out and check the head on it (the part that points in to the printer, usually down) and see if it is dirty or has ink smudges on it.
