The machine will fill with it connected to the Electrical supply then stop if unplugged providing the fill valves/ water is okay....If it keeps on filling after unpluged then sounds like faulty fill valve,if on the other hand it fills without stopping when plugged in then its your air hose or Pressure switch at fault,Good luck

My washing machine keeps filling with water

If the washer keeps filling up without overflowing onto the floor , then you have the drain hose too deep into the drain and it is siphoning, pull the drain hose back up from being so deep and have it only about 10 inches into the drain, tie it into place with a shoestring or wire tie.
Now if your problem is that the washer is overflowing onto the floor, then there is a clear rubber hose that has been disconnected from the washer, this is the diaphragm hose. Have a technician reattach it. It shuts the water off and starts the machine when its gets enough water, but it wont if the hose is disconnected. Mr Burk

Hotpoint wf240 has stopped working, sounds like the motor or brushes. Problem is there is washing in the tub and we cannot get the door open. Please advise how to open the door ?

Return the program dial to a finished position. Power the machine off (Unplug it). Leave it 20 minutes and it SHOULD reset. Note, if there is water above the level of the door, it is a good idea to pull the machine out and tip it back slightly until the water is not against the door, then you can remove clothes and bail the tub out

Hotpoint

Check level of machine as may be leaning slightly forward. Use front feet to adjust to level or slightly lifted at the front. This will compensate for any slight buckle in the plastics on the drawer compartment.

Tank overflows. wont stop filling with water and spills onto floor.

unplug unit, if water still comes in than you have a bad water inlet switch.if not than you nead to check the line from the wwater level switch to the outer tube.if there are no leaks than you have a bad water level switch.

Overflow problems

Found pressure switch was not connected properly. when the cover was taken off to fix lid switch, the tube inside the body of machine came off, so just simply needed to be re- connected and now everything is working okay.

I have the same problem with my VBXR1090D

Overflowing problems that occur during the cycle, but not when the machine is switched off, are usually caused by the water level sensor. Usually, the level sensor is a narrow hose that comes out of the tub somewhere near the very bottom, leading up to a pressure switch mounted somewhere higher up in the machine (the identity of this is easily confirmed - nothing else in the whole machine will have one hose going in, and none coming out). Make sure the machine is empty and completely disconnected from the power supply, then remove the pressure switch and hose. Problems are usually caused by the hose getting split, or getting blocked - so inspect it carefully along its whole length, wash it through with clean water and check the port where it attaches to the tub for blockages. After that, put it all back together again and see what happens. A.

Cold Water Solenoid Problem

The fill switch has a diaphragm that could be damaged and not closing properly. I have personally experienced this problem before. The way water could be getting by the switch (even with no power applied) is simply water pressure in the lines. I don't understand why it would work during the spin and rinse cycles, however. If you say it's not a pressure switch problem (level sensor), then I would invest in a new fill valve. I hope this helps.
