If I use my MacBook Pro to print, and it is the only computer on the network, and turned on and logged in, then the printer functions perfectly. But if anyone on our home network starts a PC with Windows 10 and logs in, in a matter of seconds the lights begin to flash. I think this is not an HP issue but rather a Windows (i.e. Micro$oft) issue that they need to address. They always push out updates without fully testing them and then wait while we the end users do their QA work for them. You should complain to Micro$oft for a fix. They need to get tons of complaints before they will even look at the issue without blaming HP or the user themselves.

My HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer won't print in black when trying to print from Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office Excel or PDF. The ink cartridge is new. I have turned the printer off and...

I also have the OfficeJet 6500 and had the same problem. The black text was printing using a mix of colored inks instead of the black ink, resulting in a grey, fuzzy text. I finally found a solution. In each application under Page Setup, there is an option called "Format for". Mine had been set to "Any Printer". I changed that to "Officejet 6500 E709n [830E4A]" and now it prints the black just fine. I have a Mac running 10.4.11. Hope this helps.

Why does my new HP Officejet 6500 power light keep flashing about every 5 seconds ????

I thought I had a problem, but it is not a problem. The machine power light flashes when it has not been used in a while and kinda goes to sleep until you start to use it. That way it saves on power. Thanks any way. But before I would pay for help, I would throw the machine away. !!!
