Try to shut down and restart in safe mode. when your system comes up, clcik "start" find and click on "control panel". In your list(icons) find "device manager:. Right click on ,open and click continue. Clcik on the box with + next to "dispaly adaptors". You should see your Asus device. Right click on it and you should see "disable". If you see "enable" click on that. Right click on it again and click on properties. You should see "this device is working properly". Try a normal restart. Make sure all connections and cables have a good connection. If you have a graphics card and/or recently downloaded Windows 7, there could be a compatability problem there. If this doesn't help you, please provide you system name and model, your current version of Windows and Manufacturer of and model # of graphics card(if you have one.

When I connect my ASUS monitor to my Dell laptop the ASUS monitor displays nothing instead it says "No Signal"

Hi

You do not say if your laptop screen is working or not or why you want to use an external monitor.

Assuming the laptop has no fault and boots properly, to send the laptop image to an external monitor, once you have booted into Windows, press and hold the Fn (function) key bottom left of your keyboard, near the Windows Logo key, then simultaneouly press the Function key (above the numbers) with the image of 2 monitors, 1 dark, 1 bright (often the F4, F5 or F6 key).

If the laptop's screen is faulty and the above procedure does not work, there may be damage to the graphics card which will probably require specialist repair.

I hope this helps.

Won't power on even though i've installed new batteries. There is no corrosion on the battery terminals.

Hi,
Check that the terminals in the battery compartment are clean and shiny. Remove any powder left after battery leakage. Insert fresh batteries in calculator. Make sure you respect the polarity diagram. +-+- (Many malfunctions come from incorrectly placed batteries).

After replacing batteries, calculator is restored to defaults and screen display may be too loght or too dark

To adjust the screen: Darken or lighten display

To darken screen
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and hold [UpArrow] until screen is dark enough.

To lighten screen
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and hold [DownArrow] until screen is light enough.

Hope it helps.

I have hp6735s dark screen problem even with external monitor

Try removing the battery and see if it starts. If the battery is dead, the laptop will be unresponsive as you described. If this doesn' work, then switch out the power adaptor. You can find these on eBay for less than twenty dollars. Your laptop is not getting adequate power to boot up.

The screen is too dark to read anything though the power comes on. i tried to increase the brightness but did not work NEED HELP!!!

Sounds like your backlight or inverter is on its way out. You can pick one up on ebay.  Google how to check backlight/inverter issues with your model.

If i switch on my laptop the screen is dark (like no background light) and to switch on i have to use splendid ,power button doesn t work

This sounds like a problem with your Inverter. Most PC/Laptop repair specialists should be able to sort this out with fairly little fuss.

COMPAQ screen fails to light up

Here issue is not clear, like if the issue is

1. There is no display on the notebook even though power LEDs are glowing?

2. There is display but very dimm/dark to see the display?

I will explain both the senarious, if the issue is something diff other than the above mentioned two, then you should get back to us by elaborating on the issue.

Solutions:

1. There is no display on the notebook even though power LEDs are glowing?

Sol: If this is the case, then try power drain:

Try doing power drain by taking out the battery & keep holding down the power button for complete one minute to drain out the power from the computer components. Restart the computer after putting the battery in.
Try restarting the computer only with the AC power, without the battery & vice-versa.

If the issue persists, then the issue would be with the motherboard components, you need to contact service center

2. There is display but very dimm/dark to see the display?

sol: If this is the case, then connect the external monitor to the notebook andcheck for the issue.

If the display is fine on the external monitor, and if you can see the display on the notebook screen by using the flashlight, then the issue will be with the back light of the notebook screen. Here also you have to contact service center.

Please reply if you need any further information on this issue.
