You can try to reset the device by pressing the power button for about 15 to 20 seconds..if that doesnt work I would recommend you to go to the sandisk site to update the firmware on your device or you can contact sandisk to they can help you with updating the firmware on your device..Please follow the link below to get the firmware

Dvd reader dosent work need installation for sansa e200
Go to Sandisk's website to get the software that you need. I would go to Support, and then click on Mp3 players, then find the e200. This will bypass the issue you are having with the dvd reader.

SanDisk Sansa m200 series and my macbook pro
It is complicate,

it works on Mac OS only if you downgrade firmware for sandisk.
Here is how to do it.

If system crashes while you install the firmware you will damage the sansa, Mac OX is solid , but be careful with the USB cable.

My computer doesn't recognize my Sansa E200
Make sure player's usb menu is set to MSC, so computer will recognize it. Not sure why, but sometimes it helps to try another usb port on the computer. Good luck.
