Stitches form loops below te work. i tried to tighten the thread tension & a used the pressure regulator but to no avail. kindly help

If you are getting loops on the underside of your seam, it is usually the top tension that is at fault. Check that the thread is under tension by pulling the top thread just before it goes into your needle with the pressure foot down (most machines don't apply tension until the pressure foot is lowered).

Check the tension dial - is it set to the middle number? usually 5 if the dial goes from 1-10?.

You can also clean between the tension discs - turn the dial to zero and slide the salvage edge of an offcut of light fabric between the tension discs to remove any build up.

Thread will shed particles of dye and filaments as it goes through the tension discs so you need to clean this area regularly.

Now rethread everything, check the tension dial is back to 5 and try again.

Your description isn't very clear. When you say the "bottom stitch is using too much thread" Do you mean you see lots of loopy threads on top of the seam? Or do you mean you see loops on the bottom under the fabric? If your loops on the bottom, that means the top tension is too loose, you've not remembered to put the presser foot down, you have not threaded the top thread properly... Start by rethreading carefully with the presser foot UP. Then do a test stitch, remembering to put the presser foot down. If you still get loops underneath... tighten the tension.

If your loops are on the top of the fabric. loosen the top tension... then do a test seam... and if you still have loops loosen again and repeat. If you start to see loops on the bottom... tighten the tension a bit.

3rd and 4th threads are breaking
Hiya Fiona, i think your problem may be that the tensions are not correct. Try pulling the tread with your hands to see if they are too tight or too loose and either tighten or loosen tensions accordingly. Hope i was of some help to you, kind regards.

The threads under the material being stitched forms loops - the thread can be easily slipped out and the work undone.
top thread tension is too loose try tightening the top thread tension until the loops disappear.

BOTTOM STITCH IS ALWAYS LOOSE
If the top stitch is loose, then you need to tighten the bobbin tension: if the bottom stitch is loose, tighten the top tension. Hope this helps. It could also be the size needle and thread you are using for a particular fabric. Different fabrics require different notions.
