Do you want to reboot the computer from windows or is it getting hung somewhere during the boot-up sequence? In windows the standard method would be to click on Start->Turn off computer and select the green restart option. If the computer is hanging mid way hold down the power button for 4-5 seconds and the system should switch off and then press the button again to start the system.

If windows is running click the start menu (bottom left) and select restart (or shutdown) if this doesn not work a hard restart is a LAST resort NOTE: do this at your own risk
A HARD REBOOT IS UNPLUGGING THE BACK

Aspire5250 need to reboot but don't have a reboot disk is there a way to still reboot it

If you don't have a reboot disk, you can still reboot your computer. Here's how:
- Restart your computer.
- Press and hold the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys at the same time.
- When the Windows Security screen appears, click Restart.
- Your computer will restart without a reboot disk.

Who do you reboot?

I couldn't read the information on the screen.

If you need to reboot, there sometimes a reboot button. Pressing and releasing it will cause the computer to reboot.

If there isn't a reboot button, press and hold the power button until the computer turns off. Release the button and press and release it to reboot the computer.

Good luck.

I cant open my windows media player earlier

Reboot your computer, then try to open it. If it doesn't open after the reboot, uninstall it, reboot, then reinstall.

What is the word rebooting?

Depends on how it's used.

1) "Boot your computer up", may refer to simply turning the computer on.

2) "Reboot your computer", may refer to turning the computer completely off, waiting 20 seconds, then turning the computer back on.

3) The Windows operating system has a Boot Record, which is located on a Boot Sector on one of the Platters in the Harddrive.
These are the basic Windows files.

The computer can also be booted off of another source than the Harddrive.
It can be booted off of a Floppy Drive disk, USB thumb drive, CD disk, or from the internet, to name a few sources.

Therefore it can also mean to reboot off of one of the above sources, instead of the Harddrive.

I cannot get my gateway gt5028 to reboot,, i have no disc,, people tell me yiu can reboot and get computer back to normal without one,, help!!

there are 2 things about reboot that is the reboot from the bios or reboot from the windows... if you mean you can't reboot and there are no hard disk as your primary hard disk try to check if the bios detected the hard disk. by pressing Delete key when you start to reboot the computer... make sure there are someone with you who knows something about the computer BIOS. if not keep in touch.. in Main menu in BIOS you will find If the computer detected the hard disk, if not detected try to check the IDE/SATA cable or Power Cable of your hard disk. Check if that hard disk is the first boot in the Boot section of the BIOS, if not then change the Hard Disk as your first boot.. That will help you boot your computer properly in windows..

I want to reboot my computer acer. How can I do that

Reboot basically means to "restart" the computer. You have a soft reboot which means hitting the reset button on the front of the computer or going to the start, shut down, restart computer. A hard reboot is shutting the system off completely and then turning it back on.
