Do you have a 5G card for your PS3? I believe the stock card is 2.4G and subject to the interference of many cordless phones.

Hello,
According to the Users Guide, the D-Link DIR-615 does not support the 5Ghz channel.

Frequency Range
2.4GHz to 2.483GHz

You can download the official manual from D-Link:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir615/Manual/dir615_manual_100.zip

You can try changing the router's default broadcasting channel. To do this, sign in to your routers configuration page. This may help your connection speeds by removing some of the interference.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
KYTechnology

You need to beware that 5Ghz may not be supported by your PS3, as this is not a wireless standard.

Wireless Standards are a,b,g & n

You probably should either relocated the router so its not obstructed by brick walls or metal objects.
Otherwise you can try move the PS3.

Get 5Ghz on laptop.

Find and check a wireless network label or sticker on your laptop. The Wi-Fi standard is written there. It indicates which capability your wireless card has.
  • 802.11b/g/n (or "bgn") --> your card supports 2.4 GHz band only. There is no way to activate 5 GHz without you buy new "Wi-Fi stick" having 5 GHz support.
  • 802.11a/b/g/n (or "abgn" or "abg") or 802.11ac --> your card is 5 GHz capable. Only laptop card setting change should be needed to enable 5 GHz radio.
The "a" means the 5 GHz.

Use any dual-band cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, S6...) and free WiFi Analyzer Android application to check your router is transmitting 5 GHz too (channels 34 and higher).

I cannot connect to my 5ghz band, only the 2.4ghz band

i think the best thing to do would be to make sure your 5ghz router settings, make sure they haven't been altered, or reset.

I want to set up my wifi dvd player to one of the wifi connections and leave the other for my lap top. don't know how to use both of the wifi connections.

This is NOT a DVD player. The Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router WNDR3300 features a rather misleading name. The router doesn't support true dual-band wireless-N, nor does it offer very good range. It's a basic router with two separate access points (AP), one of which supports Wireless-N and can operate in either 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies--similar to the D-Link DGL-4500--while the other is a regular 802.11G 2.4GHz-only AP. The result is that when in dual-band mode the router is able to offer Wireless-N only in the 5Ghz frequency, while the 2.4Ghz frequency is maxed out at the 802.11G speed. Still, if you have a growing stable of 5Ghz-based devices and want a router that supports both frequencies, the WNDR3300 is the cheapest router on the market (at about $100) that will suit your needs.

While its max throughput is relatively low, the router offered very consistent and considerably high throughput speeds on both our mixed-mode and long-range throughput tests. Unfortunately, its range is possibly the shortest among Wireless-N routers. If range is not important to you and your network primarily consists of 5GHz-based clients, the WNDR330 is a good bet. Otherwise, for the same price, we'd recommend the 2.4GHz-only Linksys WRT310N; or you can pay $50 more for the true dual-band Linksys WRT610n.

Netgear wndr3400 is only pushing 2.4 instead of 5.0, my laptop and ps3 won't even pick the 5.0 up, Can anybody help?

PS3 does not have a 5.0 ghz network card so it will only see the 2.4. I suspect your laptop also lacks the hardware for 5.0 ghz.

How do I force my built in wireless adapter to run in 5 Ghz mode (instead of 2.4) on a 802.11n network? It's an Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN

Does your router support the 5GHZ network?

My router supports dual-band at 2.4 and 5, and has separate SSIDs for each of them.

ie; network_1 = 2.4GHZ, network_2 = 5.0GHZ

So when I want the 5.0, I just connect to network_2

It's quite possible that though your wirelses adapter supports 5.0, that your router doesn't.
