Black screen on plasma

My house was hit by lightning. When I came home and turned on the tv the screeen started turning black in a circular motion spreading across the screen.

Check connector between Logic & PSU 2nd pin from Left (Vs_ON) for DC volts.
If Voltage is 0 then problem is with Logic or SSB.
If Voltage is 3.1 VDC then problem is with PSU or other PCB's on Panel.
On startup Logic checks for errors and also polls the SSB for Errors. If Errors found then Logic will not send High to PSU.
To confirm if SSB or Logic is at fault then disconnect and remove SSB.
Use 2 Jumpers to short J8003 & J8004 on the left edge of the PSU
Use 1 Jumper to short CN2012 on the lower left part of the Logic PCB (White signal to the Display).
Plug in the AC to the PSU thru CN8001.
If PDP panel operates with White field screen then problem may be the SSB.

I have a Samsung Plasma tv (PN59D8000FFXZA) that after my neighbors house was struck by lightning it won't turn on. What steps should I take for diagnosing the root issue?

When it get hit with any surge usually the main Board is gone, to replace it and hope nothing else is wrong, you can get a 4k LED for probably same price

LG plasma 60pv250. Green after lightning hit house. Turns black when I press menu. Can I replace a board or should I replace TV?

Personally I would replace the TV. There is no telling how many electronic components have been damaged, due to the extremely high voltage that lightening produces.

House struck by lightning and no picture in tv

I am so sorry but you should have claimed that on insurance. The amount of damage to all the solid state items in that set would mean that you are going to be replacing everything.

Panasonic Plasma TH-42PZ80U HDMI do not work after lightning storm

I don't have a solution, unfortunately, but your problem is nearly identical to mine. It even seems to have happened on the same date (7/27/12)! Do you live near Dener by chance? Anyway, we have Direct Tv, and ended up with 2 fried HD DVR boxes and 2 TVs on which the HDMI connections don't work after lightning hit close to our house on 7/27. Those boxes were replaced, as was part of the Direct TV dish. The only difference is, whereas on one TV component connections (red/white/yellow cables) allowed the TV to work normally, on the other (my 50 inch Panasonic Plasma TCP50S30) even the red/white/yellow cables did not work. Now I'm scouting the net for tips on what else to try before I possibly have the Panasonic looked at, which I am hedging on doing since I got it for only $600 new in the first place. Have you found out anything else since you posted this? Good luck to you...

CRACKED INNER SCREEN OF A 50 INCH LG PLASMA FROM NO EXTERNAL DAMA

If nobody at home how was the tv on?!?!?!?!?!? U must have a poltergeist living there if you stick to that story!

Screens do not just crack all by themselves - they need a little help. And product warranty's do not cover abuse. So yeah, you will be eating the 2 big ones.

Hi there! If you have a decoder and this was plugged in on the panel it may have damaged the input board. Alternatively have the decoder checked first or try another TV on the same decoder. Lightning can hit the dish and run down through the line into the decoder and/or into the TV. Best Wishes and Good Luck, JUS004

Screen went black on Vizio 42" plasma TV

The cost to repair it might not be a worry, parts for those types of sets are not available, the plasma style sets are replaced by LCD/LED.
