You need to specify your TV make and model, and HDDVR make and model if you want help. Describe the problem in as much detail as possible.

Lost signal

You have changed channels and now it's on the air. If your box is providing a signal on the 3rd or 4th channel you have to get back to those.

CABLE BOX HDDVR IT's NOT WORKING WITH HDM1 in put. I have to use av1 source with 3 wire cable. Comcast tech saying it is tv problem.

Hello,
I am not with Comcast, but rather a much smaller family owned cable company.
You can check the user settings of the box to verify it is in the HDMI mode. Depending on what type of HDDVR you have that is.

For Motorola 62XX and 64XX models follow these steps to check.

1. make sure that your HDMI cable is connected to both the TV and the cable box.
2. Turn TV on, and verify it is on the proper input.
3. Turn cable box off.
4. Press menu button on remote or front of cable box.
5. A user settings menu will appear on the screen.
Note: if it did not appear you may have to connect another type of cables to continue.
6. Information displayed should be set to what your TV set is capable of. Most HDTV's will be set to the following:
16:9
1080i
480i
7. If you see additional HDMI settings as the forth item your TV and cable box are communicating across it, if not try unplugging both the TV and cable box and/or replacing the HDMI cable. Enter the additional settings by pressing the right arrow on the remote.
8. Change DVI to HDMI.
9. Press power to exit the user settings menu.
10. Turn cable box on, and switch TV to HDMI input if not already on it and see if the picture is coming in now.

Note: if you think that you messed up in the user settings you can always restore default settings by following steps 1 through 4 then press up arrow once and right arrow once.

I hope this helps you cable customers, as we appreciate your business unlike Dish and Direct!

Cheers!

My 50" Panasonic HDTV 1080i keeps giving me a green screen when I change channels. It jsut started doing this? Any suggestions?

Fix the cablebox output to 1080i. This problem usually occurs with HDMI when you cablebox switches formats (low definition to high definition). Contact your service provider for detailed instruction which will pertain to your cablebox. OR, switch to component cables and the problem will not occur. Also, regarding "It just started doing this?"... your cable service provider can push software/firmware updates to your cablebox at anytime. The new software may not function as well as the old. Updates are pushed to the entire cable network, so do not expect that they will switch it back... they will not. I hope this helps.

Only reddish hue color for entire screen

In most cases these CRT projection sets made by Samsung for Akai are notorious for fouled cooling liquid in one or more of the CRT's. The CRT's in most cases are no longer available.

Philips 32" lcd hdtv. HDTV no longer displays, but sound still ok

I reset the comcast cablebox. I totally unplugged the cablebox for 20 seconds and then plugged it back in. Turned on both the cablebox and the tv and the HDTV channels operated correctly.

I have a sony 32 inch xbr TV (myt first non analog). HOw do you change the resolution from 480i to 1080i. What is the difference between 1080i and 1080p Thanks for your help. Maria

The resolution can only be change on your resolution source (ie cable box, dvd, etc). On your cablebox go to menu/setting->audio/video->output resolutions->and here you can change the setting. The main difference between i and p is how the video is scanned. I is interlaced, meaning you get the odd lines of video, then the even lines, and the picture may flutter but its better for fast action. P is progressive giving all the lines of video at once, better for still images, but slower of some tvs.

Cant get all componenets to work together

Okay so you need to run a fiber optic cable to back of bose system for sound on the cablebox if it's a hd cablebox. If you don't have a fiberoptic connection on cable box then you can use a digital coax audio cable and plug it from cablebox if it has it to back of bose system where the plugs are colored all black under the red and white connections. This cable is basically a yellow video rca type cable. That cable doubles as a video cable and a digital audio cable. But anyways once you plug your cablebox up digitally you need to make sure under the settings or setup menu of cablebox that you go under audio and make sure your cablebox is set to dolby digital instead of hdmi. Especially if it's a scientific atlanta time warner cable box. The bose remote should operate eveything still unless I read your question wrong and your saying it doesn't.
