You have an alternative. You can use copper pressure fittings. Your local hardware store should have them available. You will need to know the exact dimensions of the pipe you are using.

Good luck.

Diy plumbing

most likely that it is a old drain pipe as some plumbers used copper for that purpose. if it is a drain all u have to do is cap it. if it turns out to be a vent pipe u can install a end of the line vent cap. I cant remember what it is called but your supply store will know. just tell them u want to install a vent under the sink not through the roof.

Bulging pipes

It is very unlikely the inlet water hose is blocked. Most likely it has thinned out and needs replacement. You will have to take the bottom drawer out to get to it. Make sure the diswasher is disconnected from mains power and the water inlet under kitchen sink is shut. The plastic plugs on each side needs to be pulled out to get the front cover out and access the slide rails on which the drawer slides. Make sure the front cover does not fall as the controller and panel are held in it. Take the tub out and leave on floor. The water inlet valve and inlet hose are mouned at the back wall of housing.

What is the hose on the side of the dishwasher for. what does it connect to.

A rubber hose from a dishwasher should be the drain hose that goes to the sink drain or garbage disposal. (The metal/copper pipe should be the hot water supply pipe).

Nautilus diswasher is sending water out through the "overflow"? next to the sink, flooding the kitchen.

You must have a clog in the drain line. If it is ran to your garbage disposal then that is the first place to check.

Removing a built in Asea Skandia cylinda 1200

Its normal to have the water supply from under sink to dishwasher 3/8 soft copper. If there is a water stop under sink for dishwasher go ahead and shut it off. If not you will have to shut water off at main. Now you can unscrew supply at dishwasher, it's close to the front on left side. Its a 3/8 compression nut, you can use a small cresent wrench.

My frigidare diswasher is leaking from a left side black hose

Check the hose first - it could be split or damaged esprcially if it's old. Check all the clamps to be sure they are tight. Chack all connections to the dishwasher and drain spur under the sink. Check the drain trap fro any leaks.

1.5" copper drain joint loose in wall

You can use one the putty type of epoxy repairs. They are very easy to use. Just make sure you have everything extremely clean where the putty will touch. Cut off as much as you think you will need and knead it to a uniform color. Don't mess with it too long though, it will start to harden in 3 - 4 minutes. Once it starts to harden, you're done working with it. It sets up real fast.

Diswasher drainage in an island

Dbootin,

I suggest just putting a dedicated Drain in the island next to the Dishwasher. You can hide it in side the island. Under the house, tee into the Main Sewage drain.  You should not need to vent it as the sinks vent is near enough to keep you from worrying about that.
