How do i clean my panasonic split a/c unit cs-s24jkq. I cleaned the filters, but what else needs to be done? thanks

If this is an old unit then you must check the filters, the voltage to the compressor units. If the motor capasitor is weak then the compressor might shut off due to strain and high current drain.
Try and clean , blow air jet into the condenser and also clean or replace the filter and the evaporator. In short the unit needs a check on the gas pumping, if there is shortage of gas and also if there is fault in the power.

If you didn't turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF, before removing the filter. That is the problem. To clear the error message. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF, unplug the unit, remove the filter and reinstall it. Wait 10 minutes, plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. The controls should have reset themselves and the clean filter light should not appear.

You have a cloggeds evaporator coil. You can take it out and clean throughly with a water hose. Or you can get a spray can of evaporator coil cleaqner from one of the bigger homeimprovment stores. Furthermore, make sure that the filter is clean, and clean it often. You'll have to turn it off to allow for full thawing, but if you leave the fan on high it will speed the thawing of unit.

Lift front cover on indoor unit, lift up then pull out the filters and wash them with dish washing liquid in water and hose them off.

For the Air Filter message, the filters are located inside the unit, if already cleaned, perform a reset of the unit, Press Hold, VOL - on set and TV/Video on remote for about 5 sec. If a Lamp timer reset message, try VOL - on the set and Mute, Move or PIP on the remote (try all three)

Split A/C-Cold:

You need four wires(two #10 and two #12) to the outdoor unit, leaving you house, and three wires(#10) coming from the breaker to tye indoor unit inside your house.

Split A/C-Cold and Hot:

You need five wires(two #10 and three #12) to the outdoor unit, leaving your house, and thee wires(#10) coming from the breaker to your indoor unit inside your house.

This ypical arrangment(all of them use three wires fro the breaker), yet there are other units which may require 6-7 wires connected to the the outdoor unit depends on the added features to the unit.

Unless the condensate drain is blocked the unit is more than likely a bit short of gas.
