I have an Aastra 9417CW desk phone and "1 new caller" is always displayed even when there are no new callers. How do I get rid of this display?

SOURCE: CALLER ID NOT WORKING

Caller Id is sent between the first and the second ring. If you are waiting this long and don't see it you can try another phone to make sure that your vendor is really sending the ID. If they are sending can you tell me what phone make and model you are using.

you have to go on phone settings or call settings and it has an option for caller id on or off

SOURCE: Talkswitch caller ID from outside calls not working

Log into your TalkSwitch Management Software.
Go to Telephone Lines.
Under each incoming line make sure that Caller ID is checked.
Click File> Save
Hopefully this will fix it for you.

Please call your phones service provider, they may charge for this service. Just because the phone is capable of caller ID function doesn't mean it is a free service.

This Depends on your providers system . If yo go and retrieve your messages and hit 4 3 2 2 this will get you to nowhere you can record a message for incoming calls. If you want to change you message for when some calls you and you are on the phone you would do the same as above but hit 4 3 2 1. That is where you change your "on the phone message" never put a date in that one. Just record " hi I am on the phone at the moment please lease a message at the tone" Hope this helps

Phone rings when ringer is off
I believe the problem is even with the ringer off, if you are on one line the other line will ring which is annoying if you are on the phone. I have yet to figure out how to prevent that but would be glad to post an answer when and if I find one.

We have just bought a Vista 390 and are not able to get the hands free microphone to work. the speaker appears to work but we are unable to talk .
It took me some time, but I found out from the manufacturer Aastra (1-800-288-1683), that the issue with the Vista 390 hands free speaker is related to your internet connection. If your internet is connected to your phone line, you will need to put at least 2 DSL filters on your Vista phone line. I had to put 3 before I could use the speaker phone feature properly. 1 filter by the wall, one by the phone and had to connect a 3rd one before the two-way speaker feature would work properly. Your phone service provider should be able to provide you with these DSL filters...

I have call waiting and caller ID through my phone company. I have two Uniden phones--EXA17980 and EX15160 cordless phones. Both phones should display the caller ID while I am on the phone with another...
You're right, at least one of them should. You should contact your telephone company and ensure you have Caller ID while on Call Waiting service (CIDCW) - it's not always the same as just Caller ID. Sometimes they'll want even more money. :)
