The caller I.D. is not working although the same has been activated by the service provider"AIRTEL". On display of handset only incoming call display is coming and no number and name of the caller. Kindly advise solution.
Not only Panasonic, most other brand phones imported from other countries wont work in in India ( caller ID). Panasonic phones of Panasonic India, will work.I think panasonic has to explain this. if there are networks which does not support this equipment, atleast they should mention this is their booklets, to avoid users roam around telecom offices. To my understanding, all the land phones of BSNL through out India are caller ID enabled by default and is free!.
Caller Id is sent between the first and the second ring. If you are waiting this long and don't see it you can try another phone to make sure that your vendor is really sending the ID. If they are sending can you tell me what phone make and model you are using.

Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information. Caller ID list
When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.
Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.
Try to erase your phone's voice messages. Press ERASE 2 times while the phone is not in use. Caller ID is being activated by your phone provider. To use Caller ID features, you must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your service provider/telephone company for details.
seems the Caller Line Identification feature is not activated on your
handset. Please check with the Customer Support Team of your Network Provider to validate if you
have that feature available on your plan.
Alternatively, consider using your network provider website to add/change services yourself. Usually this feature is available for free with most network providers.
You need to have Caller ID enabled by your telephone provider. Most providers charge a fee for the service. (In my area, it is $4.50 to display just the incoming number, $6 for names and numbers or you can get it in a bundle with other services for ~$10. Your prices may vary.)
The incoming calls will be listed in the call log once the service is active. You can clear this information when you are confirming the log information after navigating to the desired item by pressing Clear. You use the left/right arrows to find desired log/directory and then the up/down arrows to select a log.
is it caller id integrated phone then there is no need to set anything, rather than date, time etc... the incoming call no will show display. When call is coming and in display "NO CLIP" is showen then u must contact u'r service provider, to activate the facility. Some service provider give this facility by request...like BSNL.....
Thanks for using FixYa. I think you have stored more than 100 Caller ID messages and hence the caller ID is not showing on Uniden Tru8888.In the following cases the caller ID will not be shown-
If you answer a call before the Caller ID message is received (for example, before the second ring), the Caller ID message will not appear.
When the call is received via a telephone company that does not offer Caller ID service, the caller’s phone number and name does not appear. (This includes some international calls.)
When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear.
You may receive any one of the following messages:
When a private name is received; Private Name
When a private number is received; Private Number
When a unknown name is received; Unknown Name
When a unknown number is received; Unknown Number
When invalid data is received; Incomplete Data
The Caller ID list stores information for incoming calls - even unanswered calls. You can store up to 100 Caller ID messages and phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) for each handset and the base. You can view the Caller ID list through the handset or base during a call or when the phone is in standby mode.
Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook entries (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to all 100 entries for each handset and the base. Caller ID messages are not stored when you have 100 phonebook entries. When you have stored a total of 100 phonebook entries and Caller ID messages, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.

I have had this phone (twin) for quite a few years . If your incoming line supports caller ID it should work immediately. I never had to activate this. I would check if caller ID on your line is working. Check with another phone if you can.
Caller ID in the USA uses the FSK standard. For the most part, callerID in India uses DTMF (although I have heard of some FSK usage).
I am currently living in New Delhi and have an Airtel home phone line.My switch uses DTMF. I went to the Palika electronics bazaar (I awaysuse shop number 266 near gate 5, they seem to be a little kinder toforeigners as far as the "final price") and purchased an DTMF to FSKconvertor. My US phones now show caller ID information, although usingUS number seperations ### - ### - ####. I paid R500 but you couldprobably get it for around R400 if you are willing to put in the timebargaining. It looks like they are also available on Indian Ebay.
Mine says UST001B. It looks like these are low volume items becausethey stuck the components into a box marked "DSL Splitter" It works toconvert the caller ID as advertised.
