My USB mouse does not work. In Device manager there is no USB Composite device. What to do?

I just solved the same problem on my laptop with the help of Tata's tech support -
first, plug in the Photon plus modem, remove any other usb devices (mouse, etc)
right click on My Computer, select "manage". Click on Device Manager, expand the list of Serial Bus Conductors.
Right click on each "USB Composite hub" (not root hub) and uninstall.
after all composite hubs are uninstalled, go to the "computer" section at the top of the list in the Computer Management box. Right-click on "Computer" and click on "scan for hardware changes". Yiur system will reinstall the drivers and give you a notification at the bottom right corner of your monitor. Once u get the message "drivers successfully installed", open the Photon plus dialler and connect. It worked for me, hope it works for you too!

You need to manually allocate the memory locations which is a rather complex job. Try to find a Windows-savvy techie.

Try this

1.Right click on MY computer ->Properties->Hardware->Device manager.

2.You will get Device manager window popping out.

3.Scroll down to "Universal Serial BUS controllers".Click on the (+) sign.

4.Check for the "USB Composite Device" and right click on it, click Uninstall.(IMPORTANT NOTE:wE HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, TO KNOW WHETHER IS THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, RIGHT CLICK ON USB COMPOSITE DEVICE AND PROPERTIES,look for wat location says, Eg -LOCATION : HP DESKJET F2100

5.Disconnect the USB and reboot the PC.

6.Connect the USB after reboot, you will get popup "Found new hardware".Then the Drivers will be installed Automatically.

I understand the issue, many HP all in one printer can print, but they don't scan. you might a error message "Error occurred while communicating to scanner device..". Before we uninstall the software, we can try resetting the USB composite Devices.Just follow the below steps.

1.Right click on MY computer ->Properties->Hardware->Device manager.

2.You will get Device manager window popping out.

3.Scroll down to "Universal Serial BUS controllers".Click on the (+) sign.

4.Check for the "USB Composite Device" and right click on it, click Uninstall.(IMPORTANT NOTE:WE HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, TO KNOW WHETHER IS THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, RIGHT CLICK ON USB COMPOSITE DEVICE AND PROPERTIES,look for wat location says, Eg -LOCATION : HP OFFICEJET 6100.

5.Disconnect the USB and reboot the PC.

6.Connect the USB after reboot, you will get popup "Found new hardware".Then the Drivers will be installed Automatically.

make sure that your printer is being recognized by your computer. to ensure that go to device manager
click on start and then run(XP) for vista click on start>programs>accessories>run then type devmgmt.msc
the device manager will come up
look for other devices you might have unknown device or eastman kodak company if not then go to universal serial bus controllers. for troubleshooting sake, unplug all devices except from your mouse and keyboard look for usb composite device or usb printing support. if you have a wireless mouse or keyboard u might see 2 usb composite device. uninstall the composite device, unplug the printer and plug it back in. then let the computer recognize it. let me know what happened! good luck!

I think that the Drivers have failed to communicate.Just try the steps below.
