My Tata Photon Plus USB Modem is not being detected in my laptop. Previously it used to work (for almost 3 months). But now all of a sudden,it is not being detected no matter what. It works on my other laptop which is Dell Latitude. I have tried uninstalling the USB drivers on my lappy, still the device itself not being detetcted.

Hi,
I just solved the same problem on my laptop with the help of Tata's tech support -
first, plug in the Photon plus modem, remove any other usb devices (mouse, etc)
right click on My Computer, select "manage". Click on Device Manager, expand the list of Serial Bus Conductors.
Right click on each "USB Composite hub" (not root hub) and uninstall.
after all composite hubs are uninstalled, go to the "computer" section at the top of the list in the Computer Management box. Right-click on "Computer" and click on "scan for hardware changes". Yiur system will reinstall the drivers and give you a notification at the bottom right corner of your monitor. Once u get the message "drivers successfully installed", open the Photon plus dialler and connect. It worked for me, hope it works for you too!

Hi I am Rajaraman.

I noticed my Tataphoton+ USB modem E1620 not working in my machine and its working in my friends laptop where both are having windows 7 64 bit OS. I tried to upgrade firmware, reinstalled laptop USB drivers... nothing helped out for me. Finally I noticed one my system service is blocked to active my modem. so finally I stopped all my start up application and services, then it starts working fine.

So better check the services if have trouble like.....

Tata photon plus 678 error code.i wrote AT+CRM=1 and restarted.now also it is showing same error code

Re install tata photon plus and then try again. First remove from the control panel and run setup wizard from your dongle. If it still not connects your modem to an internet then the problem is from your service provider then call him. He will connect your modem. I am knowing this fact because I have also tata photon whiz connection. Thanks for using FixYa.

I have windows 7 on my system but unable to use tata photon plus

first thing is check to see if the program is compatible with Windows 7 ?
secondly did you check to see if your model of laptop is compatible with windows 7 ?

the kernels have changed on windows 7 and may not let some programs run on 7,this is to provide better protection for the pc users and to stop hackers and viruss and unwanted things etc,you still need to set up some form of protection for your self tho

Go to the manufactuers site for the modem drivers
check the compatibility of w7 while your there too..

Hope this helps ,MISTERDJ
