Hello,

I suggest you do a clean re-installation of your computer. The laptop is messed up by the two operating systems.

Microsoft has made installing Windows 7 simpler than with any previous version of Windows. Just click on the link below so that you will be directed to the Windows Installation Guide.

I hope this helps.

Please rate this solution or leave your comments and suggestions on how I can improve my service.

Dell 1545 will not boot after ram installation

Before install the new ram, it is recommended that you wipe off the gold contacts of the new ram with some alcohol. You can also use pencil eraser to wipe off the contact. Did the new modules fit and lock down?
Link below to Dell - then download Service Manual. There, you'll find the procedure for removing and installing new memory module.

I have a dell inspiron 1545 windows seven computer i forgot my user password for it how can i resett the password

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

When turning on my laptop (DELL Inspiron 1545) the set up starts until I get the message 'BOOMTRG is missing, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart'. Along with this, there is a yellow flashing light

This is an error message your operating system boot manager file is corrupted or missing. A clean re-install may solve the issue. Sometimes you need to format the entire HDD to install the OS. Remove the HDD from the drive bay and connect it to another pc using an external 2.5" case via usb cable and select that HDD from computer and rightclick then format. Select ntfs if needed. Untick the quick format and click OK. it takes a while to finish. After format complete remove the HDD and refit it in your laptop and re-install OS as usual. Hope this helps.

Hi I am able to put my password in and the my computer freezes on the welcome screen I have an inspiron 1545(dell) with window 7

If you have a Windows 7 disk, then you can boot from that and do a "startup repair". It is able to repair a lot of issues with no trouble.

I have dell inspiron 1545 ultimate & window 7 it was before vista. Now blue tooth is not working please help me out.

Upgrading your laptop OS from Vista to Win 7, you have to reinstall your Bluetooth drivers for Win 7 OS(ie x86bit or x64bit) for the Bluetooth to function properly.

Dell Inspiron 1545 download @ http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON1545&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Under "Network" -> Select your correct Bluetooth drivers versions for your OS Win 7 (i.e. x86bit or x64bit) to install.

Hope it helps.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, purchased about an year ago. My OS is Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. The touchpad is not working. I have reinstalled the official driver, but to no avail.

Reboot and enter your bios (instructions are on the boot screen), reset your bios to defaults. If you're using a synaptics touchpad, they're a bit finicky and you need to remove your existing software in the control panel and install a fresh copy of it.

Laptop won't boot into Windows XP

Did you do an upgrade or new install? Did you check the system requirements first to see if you could upgrade to Vista? This could all play a part in why it does not boot up. I suggest you reinstall windows XP again.
