Clogged heatsink and fan / copper radiator. You need to remove the CPU cover (if possible) and hoover around the fan area to remove dust and debris. You mat have to take it apart to get to the cooling parts though. IF you chosoe to remove the heatsink to clean thoroughly, remember to apply some CPU grease between the cpu and heatsink.

It most likly a heat issues I got one just like yours and it runs way to hot running 720P videos when I run 1080p forget it...it lags and skip or hit dam near 200F. Use SpeedFan to monitor the tempature. Get a laptop cooler with a big fan in the middle that where the intake is for the laptop and it exit on the left side. Make sure you blow out dust from the exhaust and intake area. I am currently looking for ways to keep the fan going full blast all the time to keep it cooler longer fans are cheaper to replace not CPUs and mother boards
don't worry most laptops nowadays run hot. your CPU will shut itself down long before damage occurs. try elevating your laptop to promote air circulation or place it on a cooling mat.
Be careful if you set it on your lap, some people have had minor burns from laptops setting on their laps for prolonged periods.
Sounds like an overheating issue but there are other possible causes. Make sure the fans are free from dust and debris. A can of compressed air usually does the trick but sometimes opening the laptop to manually clear the fans is required. Laptops/computers cut off by default if the cpu becomes too hot. If your fans are not spinning then it's surprising how quickly this happens. A sure sign of it being clogged fans would be having to wait a short period before the power will turn back on. You may well notice a strange noise from the fan as it trys to spin or maybe it won't be turning at all.
Have you cleaned the cpu fan? The computer has a cpu fan that can get dirty over time. It's job is to keep the cpu cool. When the cpu overheats, the computer senses it and shuts it down immediately, to prevent permanent damage to the cpu. You can clean it by blowing compressed air into it, and should do that every few months, as routine maintenance. This is the most common thing that shuts a laptop down, other problems involve repair, so try this first. I bough a $7 three inch fan at Walmart to help cool the laptop, and when I run it, I never have it shut down on me, but once in awhile it will without the fan, especially when I play dvds or videos, which really work th' heck out of the cpu. There are also commercial laptop cooling devices, but my little fan works just fine.
The other thing that could be happening is some problem with windows, which is something I couldn't begin to guess. Hope it's just a bit too much heat.
Hi, Make double sure that your CPU isnt overheating , Your PC Turns off when it detects your CPU getting too hot , so it wont overheat and get damaged....Try using Realtemp or Speedfan to check your CPU tempreture.. Hope this helps bud Happy new year :)
Hi, the problem sounds to me like your CPU is overheating. Have a look or have a technician look at the cooling fan and see if it is still working. Most CPU's are set to shut down when over hot to prevent damage. Regards mistyman
What you have not indicated is whether it shuts down or restarts.
If the laptop restarts then it is possible that the processor is a celeron and there is a problem of a overheating.
If you are sure about all software issues be alright, I suppose you get a new fan. At times after a fan has gone weak, regardless of the contacts it has with the processor, it will still not cool; but it also be good to check the processor temperature if its goes over 60 degrees.
good luck.
