I have an HP Photosmart 2600 series printer. It is online but is showing offline and I am not able to print anything from it.

Try the steps listed here. It is a pretty solid troubleshooting guide for a printer showing as offline.

I solved this problem by switching energy saving off. I had tried all sorts of things but couldn't keep the printer online until, in desperation, I tried turning the energy saving function off - now it is always online and prints everything I ask it too - even from the iPad using airprint!

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Click on the HP printer

Does it show as "offline" ? If so, click to go "online".

Look at the display on the printer. If it shows "offline", click to go "online".

If you still have a problem, go back to the Printer screen, and DELETE the printer.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
Restart your computer.
Reconnect the USB cable, and Windows should "detect new hardware", and re-add your printer.

* Hows the unit connected to the computer?(USB cale or Network cable or wireless)

i use hp 2100 and hp 1608 printers with windows 7 without installing their software
if your os is not recognizing the printer than you need to download theupdated software compatible with windows 7 of your printer

Go to the Control Panel and open "Printers" or "Printers and Faxes". Right-click the printer icon. Make sure to SEE 'Use Printer Offline'.

Once you see 'Use Printer Offline', meaning that the printer is currently Online. Once you see 'Use Printer Online', meaning that the printer is currently offline.

Hi there,

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

follow this trouble shooting steps your issue should resolve.

On Computer:

Click on Start >> Control Panel >> Printer and Faxes >>

check which Icon is enabled if Fax is Enabled Just Disable it By right clicking on it and Disable.

Now Right Click on Printer Icon then select " Use Printer Online"

then set it as Default Printer.

Now try to print your issue should resolve..
