I plugged my xbox 360 into both of the component channels to try each one and neither shows picture or sound.. am i doing something wrong? I tried the cable on regular tv and HDTV switch mode and still nothing.. it works fine on my brother's panasonic tv but no luck with my westinghouse. Is it not made for component? or is my tv not HD ready? im confused

Its probably a broken backlight inverter, it costs about $130 for a new 1, and thats if you install it yourself, which shouldn't be too hard You can probably find instructions online about how to do that (P.S. Check before buying and trying to install yourself.)

My 42" Westinghouse HDMI inputs just stopped working. I thought it was the TW Explorer 4250HDC issue so I got a new one from TW. Still said no signal from HDMI. So, I shut the TV down and pulled the power cord out of the back. I waited a few seconds and reconnected the pwr cord. The TV "re-booted" so to say and now the HDMI inputs work. I think TVTEK has the right idea that it is firmware/software related. In the mean time, you might want to give that a try.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Please post back what you find.

No, it doesn't have a digital tuner. If you want to watch digital channels you will have to acquire a digital set-top box and connect it to the tv thru the av inputs.
