Allo i have trouble with my laptop which seems to be slow at running programme. my model is pavilion dv4000. how to make it fast? Coz once after i have installed photoshop and the latest microsoft office 2010, m laptop is totally like a snail..... hw to slove it?

ok you might want to run a disk optimizer to clean up that end first and see if the speed improves

With laptops there is hot and there is hot, the normal type of hot is due to general use and should be expected, especially as people who put on their laps and dont allow the heat to escape

However there is a different hot which is very hot to the feel and occasionally there is a burning smell coming from it. if you are experiencing this problem then please do the following

1) Switch on laptop
2) Press F2, F12 or ec key to enter BIOS setup
3) Once in bios look thorugh the menu'suntil you come up with a cpu temp option
4) Leave the laptop runing on this if the temp increases very wuickly and goes above approx 50 degrees (celsius) then your CPU is overheating and is probably the heatsink that needs replacing

If it is the heatsink, i would not recommend that you replace yourself as you will need to go down to motherboard level

if it doesnt then it is normal operation for your laptop

boss a laptop will be slow in workin mainly due to following reasons.

1. if you have loaded your memory with hardly any empty space in it and your laptop has low RAM(<=1GB)
2. Also see if you have installed Vista in it. few of the hp laptops are not that compitable with this programme. And...please do not keep your desktop with more icons and folder that occupies more space.. and there is soft ware called 1 click maintainance..down load it and get it installed. lastly clean up the temprorary files. plus keep Recycle bin cleaned. hope it helps...cheers!!

you may have a trojan / virus yes it will take forever to fix and restore by add remove./ /slowness/ Two things you can do new installation / lose all information. or you can go into choice menu while rebooting tap F8 key repeatedly if its not F8 ,F10, key or F6 key you will know when your there, at top of screen ,your first choice will be SAFE MOOD etc... use arrows and good to last known config that worked and press enter. now if that works and computer is still a mess hit programs asseriories system tools restore , create restore point and click on the calender, and pick a earlier date. if you do this correctly the computer will do the rest and reboot and restore .ALLOW COMPUTER TO DO ITS THING IT MAY GO BLANK, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE AND IT WILL BOOT UP BY IT SELF ONCE ITS COMPLETED IT CAN TAKE TIME. I think he meant reinstall the device driver not the actual device. Doing it to the actual device wont accomplish much but take some time. As for the driver go to this website: Click Here

Then download and run the fix it program there
Once you have run it restart the machine
You may have to do it twice before it works

this may not be a good solution but yeah you have to coz maybe your wireless network card is getting too much "noise/interference" from any other sources.

Do a system reinstall if you can
