It would help a lot to know the model number, it sounds like a convergence problem but I need to know the age and model number (both are on the back of the set.)

This is a LCD set and does not have a convergence circuit, these sets only offer replacement of boards and if they are not the problem it is a bad panel, the entire front screen of the set.
Is there any way you can post a photo here of what it looks like? (it can be done here) or post it on some site where I can see what it actually looks like.
My best guess at this point without seeing it is either it is buffer board or a bad panel, the buffer board may be described in other terms as all have different names for this part.
To be honest you have to look at picture, make few voltage checks and then take a chance and buy and replace a board.
I will attach site that does sell boards for this.

Hello
Inform me about the Model number of your Samdung TV. You haven't mentioned anything about it on your post. Without it, how can I post you a solution. There are so many models of TVs for Samsung. Get me the model number of your TV through Fixya please. Ok.

I bought it 18 months ago, and the model number is LN52A550P3F
i read that I could replace the IC convergence component, but am not sure how to get that part. Most of the components on the tv (I took the back off to scope it out) snap in and out, but I'm just not sure exactly what I'm dealing with...
