Autolock on my philips magnavox 60p8342

A number of possible reasons if set dead now: check fuse first.

If set does power up but has no sound or picture also look to see if menu comes on screen.

Read this well before you proceed

Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711,
although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To use it hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on the remote. Enter the override code , and enter a second time it it says it is incorrect.

Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu, goto BLOCK, and push the "right arrow" key. Go to Blocking Options and press "right arrow" key. Goto master disable and press the right arrow key so that it says "MASTER DISABLE ON". The v-chip is now reset.

Does the power light stay on?

If you look on the rear of the set and locate the chassis number can probably assist you. But I will need the chassis number for RCA & Phillips/magnavox.

The AutoLock entry code (Magnavox SmartLock) for a password reset code number is 0711; It works on mine - I hope this helps you.

Either a short in the High Voltage section or power supply section. If you are not a TV technician you will have to find a reputable repair shop to help. Good luck.
