Pfaff serger stuck

The Pfaff Hobbymatic Extra 875 uses standard 15x1 sewing machine needles. The needle you need will depend on the fabric and thread. You'll use a thicker needle for denim than for a lightweight knit. Did you turn the knob inside the hand wheel backwards while holding the wheel itself? If that knob is in the correct position, did you hear it snap into place when you rotated the hand wheel towards yourself? Does the needle bar move up and down when you rotate the hand wheel?

I suspect that the needle bar is still disengaged from the motor mechanism. The manual is available from Pfaff on the creative 1471 page: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Machines/creative-1471 . See page 13 of the PDF for the picture of the direction and position of the knob that should be checked.

If the machine still doesn't work, it may be that the belt is bad. This connects the shaft of the motor to the mechanism that runs the needle bar. You can find a parts list for the 1471 here: https://www.universalsewing.com/tek9.asp?pg=parts_pfaff . Scroll down to find the various 1471 diagrams. The belts are probably available at most Pfaff or other sewing machine dealers. This page, https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/pfaff-1471-sewing-machine-parts.aspx , is one source. You want the motor belt.

Forcing it may break some important parts. I recommend taking it for service.

No worries. One needle is always lower than the other. Just make sure when installing that the needle is pushed as far as possible before the screw is tightened.

Perhaps it is stuck because the old oil has dried out and keeping it from moving.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

you probably need to contact a pfaff dealer that has a sewing machine repair technican, to see if they can get the part.

Have you tried gently wigging the hand wheel while attempting the change?

There are two holes running vertically inside the needle arm.........the needles are held firm by very small screws or hex allen keys.........they may have worked loose over time, if they have fallen out and been lost, it is a call to your  local Pfaff dealer for advice......be sure to quote model number.
Your User manual may have a diagram to assist.

Have you ever changed the needles since buying this machine ??
Needles ought to be changed every 6 - 8 hrs of sewing, and more often with heavy or abrasive fabric.
