The only sure repair is to replace the motherboard. Even if you could find and repair corroded circuit board traces, or replace parts, and possibly get it going, you would never know if something else was close to failure. New motherboards are inexpensive, and you might be able to reuse your processor and memory if they are compatible and still working. You should also try to figure out why the computer got so rusty and corroded so the problem won't happen again.

I have two breville coffee machines that have both developed little brown spots/ speckles across their surfaces that won’t clean off. Any ideas?

They sound like rust spots. Try this:
Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda in 2 cups of water.
Rub the baking soda solution on the rust stain using a toothbrush. ...
Rinse and wipe the spot with wet paper towel.
Or:
Mix equal amounts of lemon juice and baking soda to form a paste. For instance, you might choose to combine one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of baking soda. Coat the rust with the paste, then use a damp sponge to scrub the rust away.[4]
If the rust remains after one application, let the paste sit on the rust for 15-30 minutes, then scrub it away with a damp sponge.

Unaccessible harddrive, or password protection on

If you cant format or access a harddrive due to encryption, corruption, password or other reason,
WARNING! THIS WILL ERASE ALL FILES ON YOUR DRIVE!
The last effort can be to try to boot up your computer in DOS-mode,
with a software that totally wipes/overwrites the disks sectors.
The harddrive must be direct connected to the motherboard,
not by anykind off usb-cord or any usb-port.
using a freeware program called "KILLDISK".You can find the software if you go to WWW.GOOGLE.COM and search for KILLDISK.
it totally wipes your harddrives sectors, eliminating all corruptions.
It can also be used for erasing confidential information from drives.

How do i access the headlamp relay switch 2004 chevy impala

The switches used in the headlight relay operate via one circuit to control the parking lights, another current for driving lights and the third operates the high beams. One or multiple switches in the set can fail due to corrosion, excess current or exposure to damp conditions, resulting in total loss of headlight function or the inability to switch between beam brightness. The operator should inspect the switches for signs of damage or wear and replace them as needed.

Added 1G memory, for a total of 2GB. the system still only sees 1G

If you installed total 4GB memory, the system will detect less than 4GB of total memory because of address space allocation for other critical functions, such as:

- System BIOS (including motherboard, add-on cards, etc..)
- Motherboards resources
- Memory mapped I/O
- configuration for AGP/PCI-Ex/PCI
- Other memory allocations for PCI devices

Different onboard devices and different add-on cards (devices) will result of different total memory size.
e.g. more PCI cards installed will require more memory resources, resulting of less memory free for other uses.

On a SLI system, since PCI-Ex graphic cards will occupy around 256MB, another 256MB will be occupied after you install a 2nd PCI-Ex graphic card. Hence, 2.75GB memory left only if two SLI cards installed on A8N-SLI Premium while 3.0GB memory left with one graphic card without other add-on devices.

This limitation applies to most chipsets & Microsoft Windows 32-bit version operating systems.

If you install Windows 32-bit version operating system, we recommend that you install less than 3GB of total memory. If more than 3GB memory is required for your system, then below two conditions must be met: 1. The memory controller which supports memory swap functionality is used. Chipsets later than Intel 975X, 955X, Nvidia NF4 SLI Intel Edition, Nvidia NF4 SLI X16, and AMD K8 CPU architecture support memory swap function. 2. Windows 64-bit OS which can address more than 4GB memory. You can check below URLs for reference:

hope this helps

Dear Support I'm currently reconditioning an Aleinware desktop which was D.O.A. and totally non-functional and after taking it totally apart & re-seating the CPU with new Antec Silver 5 Thermal...

I don't think that you need a bios upgrade for a 'virus' infection - they generally don't go there, as modifications to the flash memory can be tricky and difficult without knowing the flash type; viruses generally affect OS areas as being much easier.

Leaking water from rear ceiling vents in refrigerator and freezing in rear of refrigerator

The PUF Insulation is not suffecient or totally damped and need replacement to stop the water formation. Keep the fridge in a well ventilated room and not in a closed room. Due to high humidity the water formation takes place. Defrost the unit if there is excess ice so that cooling effeciencey could be instantly improved and the water formation could be to the minimal

Spin cycle with agitation motion occurring simultaneously

Hi again,

Appreciate the "Ask Me".

I believe the dampness is due to slow spin speed as you also have concluded. And I suspect that partial winding of the motor is the culprit. Hence, replacement is in order.

As to your concern why the agitator also operate during the spin setting, it could possibly be stuck or locked agitator dogs. Agitator dogs function is better explained here by another FixYa member, jsrock516.

Cheers.
