Dear Support I'm currently reconditioning an Aleinware desktop which was D.O.A. and totally non-functional and after taking it totally apart & re-seating the CPU with new Antec Silver 5 Thermal compound & formatting the hard drive with wipe drive which took 3 days for I did a triple wipe, I re-assembled and loaded Windows XP Pro Media Center Edition 2005 32bit & Now the system is up and running perfectly. I however have been unable to locate the "BIOS" for this system in order to upgrade and or reflash, "I'm in need of the BIOS" due in-part to a virus which has infiltrated the BIOS for the system had "NO" anti-virus protection of any kind. Well here are the specs: I believe it's an Aleinware 7500 or close to this model. Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS (Sound Card) P.S.U. I don't think that you need a bios upgrade for a 'virus' infection - they generally don't go there, as modifications to the flash memory can be tricky and difficult without knowing the flash type; viruses generally affect OS areas as being much easier.

Dell Precision 530 with dual Xeon CPUs. Uses Rambus memory. (4) 256mb ECC modules are installed. It should be a total of 1 gb. However, BIOS only shows 256mb total even though it shows all 4 rambus...

It sounds like like you have multiple issues. When all memory slots are filled with 256 sticks the computer boots but only sees 256 MB instead of 1 gig.
When you install the Crimms it won't boot at all.
You may have an open circuit on one of the Crimms.
As for the computer seeing only 256 MB you may have a bad memory slot on the motherboard.

Memory card renders camera non-functional (std sd card)

There are memory card utilities that can fix the card, but you have to use a card reader with your computer. Here is a link:
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=sd+memory+card+recovery&aq=4&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=SD+memory+card+&gs_rfai=CiTrZeWcvTIrKHKCYNOXTzbsIAAAAqgQFT9A8m-w&fp=4cb5f508e49085f6
As you can see, there are many sites, and some have free trials. That's about all you can do, unless you buy another card. If another card doesn't work, you might have a physical short on the memory pins inside the camera, and that's requires taking the camera apart, and straightening them. There's not much to taking the case apart, but you might have to disconnect a ribbon cable or two. You can pry the cover off the memory card holder, and see the contact legs.
That's about all I can think of, good luck, and hope this helps.
