Digital cordless phone Model# KX-TG6413 lightning struck close the house, heard a loud click in the base unit, phones no longer work, can base unit and power cord be replaced, and would this fix the...

If you are lucky, it may just be a blown fuse. You can try disassembing the base unit and checking for an open fuse inside on the circuit board. Please remember to disconnect the power supply and the phone line before disassembly.

Otherwise the circuits in the base unit were probably fried in the resulting power surge and are likely beyond economical repair.

However, the old handset(s) are probably still good. So if you do get a new replacement base unit of the same model, then you can probably salvage the old handsets and just program them for use with the new base.

I hope that was helpful, good luck and take care.

Joe.

I have a Pansonic kx-tga270s that is registered to a base I do not have. Is there a way to deregister it.

you dont need to deregister it if you have not registered all 8 hand sets with your base unit. Just register the new one and the base will assign a new # for this new. I you had registered 8 hand sets with your base already, you need to remove(deregister0 one handset from your base(it can take only upt 8).
If it still not registering please deregister as follows:
on the base unit, press program, them mute, then enter 335#, then enter the handset number you wish to deregister.
after deregistering try to register your new hand set.

I have two newly refurbed units that keep scanning, but won't pair to the base. I have done everything the installaton manual says but I must be missing something or the base unit is defective.

Depending on the base station that you have, the base station may only accommodate from 1 to 4 - (T)7406(e) sets.

Is there more than one link to the base station, meaning have you programmed new sets, and have these new ports from the norstar been attached to the base station.
1 port = 1 phone. You can see on top of the base station if there are more jacks that you can plug your ports into.

The T7406 sets are digital sets, meaning that they require their own extension numbers, but afterwards you can program Answer DN's to the sets, making each set capable to answer any other phone.

Fully charged phone, will disconnect during call and say set date and time

Sounds like the battery terminals may not be making a steady connection. You might try cleaning the terminals and the connections inside the phone.

"out of range"

I have a GE DECT 6.0 Digital phone (silver, 2-handset model) and one of the handsets began displaying "Out of Range" and was unresponsive. We've had severe lightning around here in recent days which interfered with the digital tv reception, so I'm pretty sure that's what caused the problem. Here was what worked for me:

- unplug base unit for 15 seconds
- press "PROGRAM" button on handset
- from menu, select "HANDSET SETUP"
- from menu, select "REGISTRATION"
- handset display will prompt you to press and hold PAGE button on base unit for 5 seconds, then press "PROGRAM" button on handset

This action re-initiates the transmission between the base unit and the handset.

Good luck!

My GE instajack is not working. It had a greeen signal, now it has a red signal.

Most likely, the extension unit cannot communicate with the
indicator light is solid base unit for one of the following reasons:
red • Base unit has yet to be installed. Install base unit. (Refer to
the Set Up section.)
• Extension is too far from the base unit. Relocate either the
base or extension unit to another electrical outlet. If
indicator light on extension
unit remains solid red, reprogram the link code on extension
unit

Follow these steps:
• Press and hold the button on the right side of the base
unit until the indicator light changes to solid red.
(Approximately five seconds.)
• Release the button, then the indicator light will blink orange.
This creates a new link code and places the base unit into
program mode.
• Follow steps (2) and (3) in the Additional Extension Units
section for all extension units.
• Press and release the button on the base unit to take it out of
program mode. The indicator light will change from flashing
orange to solid green.

Programming old handsets to a new base

Cancel the old handsets registration at the previous base unit if desired.
For additional handsets, you must register each of them at the new base unit. Only one handset can be registered at a time. A handset will be assigned anextension number at registration.

Make sure the base unit and the other handsets are not being used. Program the same way as the extra handset you bought.

Registration must be completed within 1 minute.

More than one base unit

Yes it is possible. The units operate at different channels and digitally coded. The expansion units has to be programmed to what base unit it will be used. The base units have unique 15 digit code that you will have to program on the expansion unit that you want to use it to. Up to 8 expansion units can be associated with 1 base unit
