Hi, I have Creative Labs SBS 2.1 370 - I started making weird noises: out of nowhere (no music playing) I heard the booster make some cracking sounds - almost like breaking a twig. Also, I smell something burned, so I want to look inside - there is a panel for the plugs and volume control at the back - with 4 screws - I unscrewed those, and I can pull out the panel (with IC board attached) but only partially as some wire blocks (I guess it goes to one of the speakers). Also, I can't remove the front (with the fabric) as it seems screwed as well - I pierced through the fabric in one of the corners, but couldn't feel a screw there - seems it is glued or thoughtly locked (from the inside), but then how did they close the box? Can't find any other screws (none under the 4 self-adhesive plastic 'feet' either). The set is about 5 years old, switched on daily (although not used for music), so it now breaking down would be inconvenient but not totally 'unexpected'. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a short in the speaker most likely. Honestly, with the cost of these things and the cost to actually get it repaired I would recommend replacing it. Having worked as a computer tech for years that is the same thing I would tell any customer.

Thanks eb93 - I understand we live in a consumption system, so they make it more expensive to fix than to replace. However, to determine it is a short, I want to open the box and see the speaker/woofer first - also out of curiosity how they built the thing.

I can not find the drivers for Creative SBS 380

Hi lorenzogoode
You don't need drivers for these speakers : it's a plug and play system .
Check your connections , power supply and volume settings .
Best regards ,

ONE OF MY SPEAKER SOUND BECOME LOWERED

Check your soft balance in Windows (assuming you're running windows)
If however you have a habit of playing really loud music, you may have partially blown one speaker or damaged one side of the amp.

My zen stopped working

On the left side of the zen is a small hole, in that hole is the reset button, find something thin to poke in it, paperclips work nicely.

There's always a bzzz sound coming out when plugged in.

if there's buzzing coming out, there's probably a rip in the actual speakers. Something is torn on the inside thus the weird buzzing noise.

Unless it was a zzzzzzzzz...... noise then there's probably some sort of interference. Possibly cellphone close by, or some other magnetic thing to create that annoying sound.
