Hi, the blower module that is located at the bottom of the heater box, next to the blower motor, above the panel below the glove box, has a tendancy to go bad, possibly overheat, and melt the larger of the two connectors. This can lead to one or all sppeds inop. the module will need to be replaced, and th connector inspected. If the connector is melted, or discolored, it needs to be replaced. A pigtail with wires, and connectors, as well as the resistor, should be available at a local GMC or Chevy dealer. Good luck...Coop

The climate controller, which is located under the glove box is going bad. Part costs around $180. You'll see a bunch of wires going into it. You'll probably see 1 of the wires melted. Which is your #5. You'll also need a new wire plug. The dealerships will know this. I have 5 3500's in my fleet

be sure that the cams are not on the engine when you rotate the engine . this will damage the valve train. there are 3 tools needed to set up the timing,
crankshaft setting peg #303-531
camshaft locking tool #303-530
chain tensioning tool #303-532
mitchell on demand 5 has a really good step by step with diagrams on how to set up your engine, you may try some of the shops in your area to see it they would run off a copy.

2001 cadillac Deville not starting

it can be several things ill give them all to you and you can do the process of illimination (1) crank sensor.(2)throttle posistion sensor.(3)cam posistion sensor.(4)bad coil.(5)bad fuel pump.and lastly bad timing. but first check to see if you have fuel if so check pressure off of the fuel rail or throttle body should be at a mimimun 14 psi if you have that then check spark you should have a strong spark if not then probably your timing is off but you will have to play with it to figure it uot. if you know someone with a scanner they can hook it up and probably get some codes that can lead you in the right durection.

Just had thermostat replaced. After 5 days of use:

You may have air trapped in the system. Take it back where they changed the thermostat and have them bleed the system. If you want to DIY post back.

Crankshaft posistion sensor or ignition control module?

1) do you have a Check Engine Light On while running? If so find out what the code is
2) these engines are known for their CPS going bad...it can be tested on the car with a volt meter and turning the engine, but it isnt easy....I would have to err in the direction of changing the Crank Position Sensor.
