Why does my camera have now have a white screen and I can hardly see the pictures..what's wrong with it?

The camera has live-view, so is the LCD always white? Can you play back old pictures or view menus properly? Do your pictures turn out white or are they ok?

If it's always white and you can't see anything, you need the LCD replaced or the cable going from the main PCB to the LCD replaced. 99% likely the LCD, not the cable.

If you can playback old pictures and view menus... but NEW pictures turn out white then it's not a problem with the LCD screen at all, it's the CMOS or something else.

Without knowing more detail it's hard to say exactly what's wrong, but it definitely sounds like the camera needs repair.

are you using the recommended battery KLIC-7003? If yes charged removed first the battery and clean the 3 metal contacts of the battery using a clean cloth. Now charged the battery for 3hrs

If the camera the camera will just make a noise and the LCD is just a white and the lens wil not comeout it means that the problem is in the lens of the camera. Now if the lens will comeout and still LCD is white screen,. It means LCD is defective.,

I Havee The Same Problem And Ive Been Reading Around And The Most Decent Answer I Found About What Was Wrong Was That Something Had Just Come Loose Inside So That Might Help Because Something Wiring Upo To The Screen Might Be Loose Its Worth A Shot.

It should take pictures fine. Sqeeze the camera hard at the bottom while watching the screen.

What you should do is have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. There is most likely something wrong with the LCD screen itself. I hope this helps!

unfortunately it would appear to be a CCD or main board failure.
If the camera is out of warranty (as this should be covered) my best suggestion is to pick up one off ebay with a broken screen and put your screen in it, broken screens are common on these cameras so they go quite cheaply, far cheaper than kodak would charge for repair and the swap is easy.
There are several searchs to try "parts v1003" "spares v1003" "Faulty v1003" "repair v1003"

the problem is not with the screen as you can see other photos and menu

it may be with the image sensor or lens
this would definitely need a repair

Oh my gosh this really works! Our screen went white, we hadn't dropped it or anything. The camera still worked fine but we just couldn't see what we were taking a picture of. We tried this solution and now we can see the picture through the screen perfectly. THANKS for posting this!
