It will definitely have to be replaced. A fairly easy job.
Go to your local parts store and use the new one
to see how to change it.
Don't forget your model number.

Refrigerator wont run. Clicking noise coming from main board preceded by a short humming noise every several seconds. Unplug for 30 minutes then plug back in and compressor starts up after several clicks...

Hello,
That condenser fan motor needs to be replaced. You and doing the right thing as far as using a seperate fan to keep compressor cool, buy replacing the fan the compressor will run cooler and click off by being too hot as you have heard/seen.

Find your model number and call your local appliance parts store and see if they have a CONDERSER FAN MOTOR in stock

Ge refrigeratorgsh25sgre bought in 2005 making a clicking sound off and on and all lights inside and out of refridgerator blinking

its the mainboard in the rear thats bad,it comes from a light bulb burning out a shorted fan motor in the condenser or evaporator area of the unit, another sign of this boards being bad is if the digital readout is dark or not illuminated, before replacing this board, make sure all fan motors are good or you will destroy the new replacement board they replace easily by unplugging a few harness wires 1 screw and pressing in on 3 plastic standoff insulators part # is G.E.WR55X10942 cost $100.00 and up

Freezer not cold. fan is on. Also, there seems to be a "click" in the rear of the refridgerator.

Check relay and compressor. Remove relauy and shake by hand gently and refix it. Check after click sound compressor starts. Keep your hand over discharge line (Condenser line). If warm, compressor is working. Open fridge door and check, when click sound comes buld gets dim and bright. It means compressor gets strain to start. Call repairman to replace compressor.Thanks.

2003 refridgerator

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Not cooling, compressor is struggling It is a smallish refrigerator, GE model GMS10AAMERWW

Check the condenser and condenser fan, if they are dirty this would cause the problem. Be sure the fan is operating. An indication of this is the compressor will be to warm to hold your hand on.
This is just a starting point it could be something else.

Good Luck,

GE refridgerator won't cool

First of all check and see if the compressor is running and if not is it very hot to the touch. If the compressor is not running but hot then the compressor is either locked up or is cycling on its internal thermal overload. If this is the case then either the condenser fan motor is not running and/or the condenser coil is very dirty. If the condenser coil is dirty you need to blow it out with compressed air(watch out for all the blowing dust). If the compressor has been cycling alot on its internal thermal it will eventually lock up permanently and you will need a new compressor. I hope I was of some assistance to you!

My ge profile side by side bottom freezer is hot to the touch

is you condenser fan runnig at all. look in the back ot the unit and if you have a cover plate hten you need to either put your hand close to the opening and feel if there is a draft or if ther is air being blown out that is warm. If not then the condenser fan may be toast.
