I have a VC-1cx projector that acts like a fuse is blown. No reponse (not even the power status LED) when power is applied. I looked for a fuse and distended capacitors (inside) and did not find. Any suggestions to power this unit back up?

The VC last worked about a year ago. I have tried a different power cord and 115VAC outlet. It looks like the power supply is dead.. It would be nice to fix (myself) the powersupply without having to send to Runco.

Correct, it is a VX-1cx. Sorry for the confusion. I might take the unit apart this weekend see if I can find a OEM part number on the power supply. Yet, not sure what I will do with that infomation. To your point, it could a problem on the mainboard that is not letting the powersupply to turn on.

When was the last time that it worked? Are you sure the power cable is working properly, I think it just takes a standard PC style adapter on the VC's I've seen, do you have another you can try? It's definitely not a good sign if you get no status lights or any other indication of power, it could be the whole power supply unit is dead inside the box. Please let me know and I can help.

Thanks
Tim

Runco parts are very proprietary unfortunately, and usually have to come from the manufacturer. I am sure they would sell you just the power supply if you wanted to attempt to replace it yourself, but it looks like you would need to at least get the part from Runco... you may want to see what they'd charge you to replace / repair it. They may be able to replace just the one part of the power supply that is bad (if it is just one part), and if somehow it is something in the main-board of the unit that supplies the power, it would be very bad to buy just the power supply to find out it doesn't fix the issue as expected. Unless they will let you return the part... which is unlikely if you open it and try to install it.

I tried to locate just the part for you and it doesn't look like anyone sells it, unless we can find out who actually makes the power supply (I'm sure Runco just buys them from someone and re-labels them.

    Also, it is a VX-1cx, not a VC-1cx, correct?

    Thanks
    Tim

It definitely could be, if you come up with any kind of OEM part number let me know and I can help you try and track it down. Thanks so much! :)

Dear Sir, I have a NEC LT 260 K Lcd projector. The lamp of the lcd was busted.I replaced it with a new lamp. After replacing the lamp the lamp is not lighting when projector is put ON, I think the...

the clicking sound hopefully is the high voltage trying to start the lamp, but for some reason there may be a connection problem between the lamp and the projector power supply.
take the lamp out.

look at the lamp and check that the 2 connecting plugs are ok.
then look inside the projector at the power sockets that connect to the lamp (when it's installed).
check that the pins are not damaged or pushed down too far to prevent the lamp plugs making a proper connection with the power sockets in the unit.

InFocus DL640 projector is not powering on. Lamp seems to be OK. I did not see any black spots or marks on the lamp. Wondering whether the PSU or fuse is blown. How do I check whether PSU or fuse is OK.

I had the same problem with my LP815 projector, it wouldn't power on the LED lights did do anything. I open up the projector and replaced the fuse, and now it works! Just replace the fuse and that should do it.

250V T6.3AH Slow Blo Fuse

Depending upon the way in which the lamp finally smoked, it is not unusual for the feeder fuse to blow. Replace the fuse and try the projector. As long as you haev a new lamp, it should work OK.

Infocus LP-820 no power

You should get some indication of power even without the globe. This can however be a problem relating to the globe not being inside the projector.
Most projectors use a switch inside so they know when a lamp is installed. Some have several of these and a fuse that is on the lamp unit itself.

Replace the lamp back into the projector and apply power again. If you get lights then you have that much solved at least.

If there are still no power lights at all, then you may have had a power surge that not only killed the globe, but has blown the internal fuse for the power supply as well (or even killed the power supply)
To get access to the power supply you will need to disassemble the whole unit almost. If your not comfortable doing this, then I would advise getting it checked over by your local tech. It could save you hundreds of dollars buying a new lamp when the projector may not be worth repairing.

Infocus LP240 projector will not power up

if you don't even get an led, it's the power supply. it may just be the fuse on it. take the top off and see if the fuse is blown. but make sure to replace it with the exact size and type.
