I have a Kenmore 64812 (110-64812200) electric dryer that produces a high heat at every temperature level, even "delicate/cool" is hot. With two thermostats and a fuse, what could be broken first?

Thermostat is bad...
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Hi, i have a whirlpool duet sport wfw8400tw03. When i run to normal cycle, it stop no error code no light. The washing machine just shut down. I can run it on delicate or sanitary. Is a balance trouble

if u can run it on delicate or fluff cycle with cool air more than likely its ur cycling thermostat or the hi limit thermostat going defective test it with a meter for ohms..
1. On gas and electric dryers that have an "Auto Dry" cycle, the cycling thermostat is often used to advance the timer as well regulate the drum temperature. Essentially, thermostat will alternately turn on the heat source or the timer motor when the temperature has been satisfied. To check this thermostat, you will have to check for power to the timer motor with a multi-meter, during a cycle. This is a live voltage test and caution should be used.

2. Some dryers will use a cool down thermostat to tumble the clothes without heat, at the end of the dry cycle. Power is routed through this thermostat to the drive motor to keep it running until the drum temperature has dropped to a specific temperature. If this thermostat fails it can cause the drum to turn indefinitely or until the door is opened. You can check the thermostat for continuity with a multi-meter. This test should only be made with the power removed from the dryer.

Lastly check the moister sensor for OHMS according to ur schematic as it must show a certain amount of ohms as per ur unit. When unit has been on short while

DRYER OVERHEATING:

Heating Element
A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot or not heat at all. . If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Other Causes and Conditions
Air Flow Problem
Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.

Cycling Thermostat
Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

HI LIMIT THERMOSTAT DEFECTIVE? SHOULD SHOW OHMS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE

Felt Seal
Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel
A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

I have a Kenmore electric (front load) dryer, model number 84092500 that would spin but does not produce any heat. I tried cleaning/vacuumin the tubing that vents to the outside and resetting the circuit...

The first step of the fix has been done by cleaning the lint filter and the vent system. The next step is replacing the thermal cut-off and the high-limit thermostat both located on the blower housing. It is common that the dryer stops heating when the thermal cut-off blows open due to the failure of the high-limit thermostat to cycle off and regulate the heater temperature. The thermal cut-off cuts power to the heating element should the high-limit thermostat fails and the dryer temperature goes extremely high as a safety feature. I have a Kenmore Electric Dryer #76974150. It only works right the higher heat setting. Will not heat at all on the low heat settings? Any ideas?

If the dryer is running then the thermal fuse is okay.

The temperature is controlled by three parts. There is the operating thermostat which is on the blower housing and is rated at 150 degrees. This is high heat.

The operating thermostat sits in a thermostat heater which is controlled by the temperature switch. The temperature switch controls how much voltage passes it to the thermostat heater. This is how we achieve lower temperatures. There is about a 15/20 degree difference between high heat and low heat.

The restricted vent may have caused the appearance of the dryer running hot.

I would suggest you check the temperature coming out of the exhaust. It can be checked with the vent hose pulled off. Any thermostat with a range between 120 degrees and 160 can be used. With the vent removed check the temperature of the air in the exhaust. At high temperature it should cycle between 135 degrees to approximately 155 degrees. This is high heat.

If you turn the temperature switch to a lower setting such as delicate you should see a lower temperature in the exhaust. It may only be 15 degrees lower but it should show a lower temperature.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem.

Subject is HE3 dryer. Dryer controls for heat level and auto shut-off time do not work. No matter what heat selection is chosen (delicate, medium ...) high heat is used. Articles needing lower heat come...

Unfortunately that is going to be the problem. With these new hi-tech machines they run off that main bored for everything not individual switch's like from the past. Even if it has a control switch mounted behind the knob they still work off the main bored to tell it what heat temperature it needs to be at. Ive been doing Appliance work for 12 years and have seen this problem allot you will have to replace the control board to fix the problem and I do know there not cheap sorry for the problem its giving you.

Kenmore dryer only heats on delicate

I am not familiar with this particular dryer but most of the Kenmore family use different thermostats for different temperature. They are usually located in the rear and are clustered on the blower housing. Take the two wires off one thermostat at a time and test. It should be closed when cold if not replace it (Usually around $15 each) You probably have a very dangerous clogged exhaust. This will cause thermostats to fail. and can cause a fire. CLEAN It out and dont use flexible plastic duct pipe. The other cause of thermostat failure is if the washer doesn't spin properly and the clothes are too wet when dried. A properly operating dryer will not take much longer than 45 minutes max to dry a load.
